Happy Day Reading
This was just lovely. Like I said before. She can write right.

Lookie what I’ve got my hot little (ok, not to little) hands on now. Scandal by the fab author and now I’m happy to call my friend, Carolyn Jewel. Scandal has been getting rave reviews all over the place since it’s debut a hot minute ago. You can check out my past interview with Carolyn here. I can’t wait to dive in. I can feel a very late night coming.

Best,
Kwana
P.S. Scroll down for Jack’s antics. ugh! That dog. It’s a good thing he’s so cute.
Hello Lover 2- Fashion Amendment
What’s Jack up to? Jack, the little Devil, has been a such sneak. Yesterday I watched, like in slow motion, as he ever so coolly lifted up on his hind legs and took a piece of chicken right off the edge of the DD’s plate and ran with it. I was just far enough away to not be able to catch him and he knew it. Grrr… Jack.So this is how my mind works. It’s the wacky little things that make me crazy. I was looking back on my blog and something about my Hello Lover post was just not right. I screwed up, but how? So I did some research and realized the top image is not a Birkin bag it’s a Kelly bag. Of course, I knew. Don’t ask me how I messed that up.
See the straight edge flap and the one handle. That’s a Kelly. The Lover I’d cheat on my 1st Lover with or the other way around which ever $12,000 bag came first. Yeah right. Delusional much? So just to get it straight…
This is a Kelly:

This is a Birkin:

Both are swoon worthy.Whew. Glad I got that fixed. Just in case The Hermes people are reading or someone needs a fashion editor on the fly.
Now to my first love, the man I’d marry… Come to Mama!

Boy this recession/depression has me dreaming big time. But I gotta go. Off to Target and Walmart for some reality shopping. Catch you all later.Best,

I don’t have much new to talk about today so I thought I’d share some pics taken a few weeks ago on a snowy drive down 5th Avenue with my Crackberry in hand. Looking back, I now see the day in a beautiful new light. To me there is no street like 5th Avenue no matter the weather.
The Guggenheim
Central Park

The Met- My most favorite place in all of New York.

The Plaza- Still an Ahh…
I hope you have a lovely and not so snowy day.
Best,
KwanaP.S. Oh Man, is this a mean villain on 24 this season or what?
Monday Monday
What’s Jack up to? Jack is being his usual funny self. Relaxing after a weekend of, well, relaxing. He cracks me up with his new pushiness. Lately, if his water bowl is empty and he sees me going toward the sink he’ll not so subtly just kick it out off his mat and look at me. Like I need another boss around here!
Happy Monday! I hope you all had a good weekend. The weather was above freezing in New York so that was a plus. The snow around my house is still not melted yet though. Hopefully soon. Then nice sweet buds will come. The early morning birds are starting to chirp. You’d think I’d like that. Um, no. It’s only cute in a Disney movie or after the 9 am hour.
It was a busy weekend lacking in the sleep/relaxation time that I’m longing for, but I’m hoping for some of that soon. 2 years maybe?
What running through my brain today?
1.Must make my writing personal goals for the day.
2. Must get back to writing down what I eat. I’ve been a bit lax with that and it’s always helpful.
3. I’m also wondering if I wish really hard will a cleaning fairy appear in my house? Freeing up 4 extra hours for me to slee-, no, um… write!
5.Tonight I’m going to look up and enjoy the full moon. I may even howl a little too!
What’s doing for your day?Best,
KwanaHello Lover
In the spirit of putting it out there in the Universe…
Hello Birkin meet Kwana.

Kwana is a soon to be 40, ex-fashionista, now writer with a of love romance novels and all things beautiful hence, a longtime fan of you. She even wrote a story where you were a major character. Just saying. Tragic and strange, she knows, but a sure best seller if ever published. She also has two children that will be going to college soon and a home that needs improvements. Just saying that too. Birkin? Major home improvements? Le Sigh. Now she knows about that whole terrible mess with Lady O a while back. Very unfortunate that was. Practically unforgivable. But like a sexy bad boy with smoldering eyes, she can’t turn away from you. If loving you is wrong she don’t want to be right. Le sigh again.

KwanaGuest Blogger! Sarah- One Smart B. on warm reading
Imagine my twitterly glee when I saw that Sarah from one of my all time favorite blogs: Smart Bitches Who Love Trashy Books was offering to guest post on folks blogs today since SBs we
re going through maintenance. Their loss my gain. Evil I am. I jumped at the offer! So without further delay here’s Sarah…OMG you are SO RIGHT. My thermometer in NJ is reading a balmy 32.8 and I am excited about every last one of those last .8 degrees above freezing. The thing about cold weather is that it makes me crave soup, hot beverages, and really long, luscious, forget-where-I-am-and-how-cold-it-is books. These are a special section of my keeper shelf – cold weather books. I have vacation books, need-a-break-books, and the ones that Calgon-take-me-away immediately. My top cold weather books (add blanket and hot beverage, spiked if you like it, and really, really warm socks) are:“The Duke and I” – Julia Quinn. Holy smackerel I love this book. No matter where I start reading it, I’m in. Warmth of a happy family and a truly loving heroine: le sigh.”
Charms for the Easy Life,” by Kaye Gibbons – not a romance, but three women’s storys, past present and future, heavy on the magic and midwifery.
“Lyon’s Lady” by Julie Garwood. This one is on my bedstand because I am always FREEZING when I get in bed, and a few pages makes me feel all warm and fuzzy. I love old Garwood historicals but this one is among my faves.
What books warm your toes?(Thanks for letting me guest blog!)Smart Bitch SarahSmart Bitches Trashy Books LLCThanks so much Sarah! I’m honored to have you on my blog today. I’ll be sure to put those books on my snuggle up list along with a Snuggie!Everyone please hop on over to SBTB when they are up and running. It is the place to be for those in the know on romance. And chime in on the books that warm your toes. For me it’s anything with a sexy rake and a stubborn heroine. Elizabeth Hoyt, Lisa Kleypas, Eloisa James please.Best,KwanaSing to Me Bettye
Happy Friday! I hope you all have a nice weekend planned. There is talk of above freezing temperatures in New York so yippee! Break out the flip-flops.
During the pre-inauguration celebrations my DH and I noticed for the first time this woman, Bettye LaVette singing with Jon BonJovi. We were wowed by her voice so I looked her up and got some of her music from the library. I came to find out that she has been singing for over 40 years. Talk about being late to the party. I am so loving Bettye. I can hear so many stories in her voice. Check her out then and now. I particularly like the middle song. You never really know who you’re sitting next to.
You can find out more about Bettye here. Enjoy.Best,

What’s Jack up to? Oh you know Jack he’s into a bit of everything, but yesterday he really came in handy when this soliciting dude, looking quite chatty came to my door ringing my bell. Don’t ask me how he had the nerve to get up the steps because as soon as he hit the driveway Jack was already losing his mind. Barking, snarling, jumping, Jack was having none of this guy. He gave me the perfect out to say, through the door, “sorry, wild dog here. Can you just leave your literature on the porch and go? ” What a good dog I have!
Thanks so much for all your comments to my marriage vs. motherhood post yesterday. I loved reading them. It really can be a sticky subject and I agree with the very honest point made that motherhood can make a marriage harder. So true. Also Children’s ages can make motherhood harder. I am a different thinking woman than the one I was when my children were 4 or 5 as opposed to now 15. Just like I’m a different woman than the one I was when my husband first married me. Hmm… now I wonder how much the men actually change. I have to think on that a while. A post for another day perhaps?
It seems that Steel Magnolias was a real favorite with this group. So I went on youtube to look for a little clip to post here today and found this funny winner. Enjoy.

What did you all who watched think of Top Chef? I had no motivation to really give it a blow by blow blog this week. The only fun was Jamie’s stinky attitude towards the perfection that was Le Bernardin and Chef Eric Ripert. Excuse me, Missy. Also Carla’s funny expressions during the quickfire cracked me up. I really like her. I decided to write this way to keep all spoilers in the comments.Have at it!Best,Kwana
