Sucked In A Tweetisphere
What’s Jack up to? Jack’s doing the chill Jack thing right now. Meaning trouble later.
So I’ve been Twittering for a bit now. Still learning, but quickly going over to the dark side and fast. I have to say I’m having so much fun keeping up with my friends in just about real time while watching the same shows. And no, these are not really strangers, well, not mostly. See I know my P-I-C and my writer/fashion friends. Sure Anderson Cooper, Mc Hammer and Ellen D. don’t know me but it’s fun to watch them being the voyeur I am. So I’ll admit I’m stuck in the abyss and enjoying it… for now. Cue creepy music here please.Care to follow me? Well come on the water’s fine!

Owwwie! Well The back pain is back and now I’m feeling and moving like I’m a hundred and fifty years old. Ugh. I can barely think straight so in honor of feeling old I’ll leave you with a couple of songs that always make me feel happy and young. I hope you are having a good day.
Best,
KwanaP.S. Anybody watch the Not So Real Housewives? Simon and Alex doing a parenting book? Too funny!
It’s a McWonder
Happy Friday everyone. I hope you all have a nice weekend planned. Lately it seems for me the weekends are just blending with the week and it all feels the same. Work, work and more work just on a different day. I need a McVacation to sort things out.
My mind is cluttered with strange things that it probably should not be, but, well, it is. And here is one of them that’s a bit old but still stuck with me especially since I’m off the sugar and white products for Lent. Honestly at this point I’d give my pinky toe for a decent diner grilled cheese with bacon on good old white bread with a big side of fries. Oh be still my heart.
Stop, Kwana, that’s not the story. Breath. This is the story. Did you hear about the woman who called 911 because McDonald’s didn’t have her McNuggets and wouldn’t refund her money?
Well, a woman goes into McDonald’s orders a 10 piece nuggets they take her money and then tell her they are out of the nuggets and she can have something else. She asks for her money back and they refuse to give it saying all sales are final. What’s with that? That sounds like robbery to me.Now you know when you’ve got your mind set on something in particular you want that thing. Nothing else will do. Like, I want a grilled cheese on White bread with bacon right now. Not on whole grain with fat free cheese. And if you get me on the wrong day I may have to call 911 on you if you don’t give me my money back.
It turns out the woman was given a summons for abusing the 911 system for calling 3 times. She says she called back to get the address correct. I say the restaurant was at fault for not refunding her money. Worse for taking it in the first place and giving her false Nugget hope.
Turns out McDonald’s has sent her a bunch of coupons and are now offering a refund. I say they owe her a lot more than that. You don’t go messing with a lady when she’s got food on her mind.

What’s Jack up to? Oh, being Just Jack! You know how that goes.
When I was a kid, of all of about 8, my mom and step dad had a bar/disco on 125th street in the heart of Harlem. It was quite the spot for it’s time.Well, one of my favorite things to do was go by in the afternoons, serve myself an icy Pepsi with two perfect cherries on top then beg my mother for quarters from the register for the Juke Box. She knew what was coming next. Everyone knew. It was time for Dr. Buzzard’s Original Savannah band!
Oh, how I loved these songs! I drove the bar crazy with them. I can still see the eyes rolling now.
Hmm… I wonder if it had anything to do with me eventually marrying a man from Savannah. Hey, you never know how these thoughts get implanted.
This weekend while looking for a song I had heard and was liking a lot, I ran across them again in iTunes. I figured out that the reason I loved the song was because Cory Daye had sung it with The Band back when I was a kid. So it was already deeply implanted on my heart, somewhere on the ‘B’ side. I had just forgotten about it. Funny how those things happen huh?
And don’t you just love Cory’s style and attitude. So much cooler than some of the polished girls of today don’t you think?
What is some of the music you loved as a kid? Do you think it had any influence on who you became as an adult?

What’s Jack up to? Jack, the little Devil, has been a such sneak. Yesterday I watched, like in slow motion, as he ever so coolly lifted up on his hind legs and took a piece of chicken right off the edge of the DD’s plate and ran with it. I was just far enough away to not be able to catch him and he knew it. Grrr… Jack.So this is how my mind works. It’s the wacky little things that make me crazy. I was looking back on my blog and something about my Hello Lover post was just not right. I screwed up, but how? So I did some research and realized the top image is not a Birkin bag it’s a Kelly bag. Of course, I knew. Don’t ask me how I messed that up.
See the straight edge flap and the one handle. That’s a Kelly. The Lover I’d cheat on my 1st Lover with or the other way around which ever $12,000 bag came first. Yeah right. Delusional much? So just to get it straight…
This is a Kelly:
This is a Birkin:
Both are swoon worthy.Whew. Glad I got that fixed. Just in case The Hermes people are reading or someone needs a fashion editor on the fly.
Now to my first love, the man I’d marry… Come to Mama!
Boy this recession/depression has me dreaming big time. But I gotta go. Off to Target and Walmart for some reality shopping. Catch you all later.Best,

KwanaSing to Me Bettye
Happy Friday! I hope you all have a nice weekend planned. There is talk of above freezing temperatures in New York so yippee! Break out the flip-flops.
During the pre-inauguration celebrations my DH and I noticed for the first time this woman, Bettye LaVette singing with Jon BonJovi. We were wowed by her voice so I looked her up and got some of her music from the library. I came to find out that she has been singing for over 40 years. Talk about being late to the party. I am so loving Bettye. I can hear so many stories in her voice. Check her out then and now. I particularly like the middle song. You never really know who you’re sitting next to.
You can find out more about Bettye here. Enjoy.Best,

What’s Jack up to? Right now he’s sleeping ever so sweetly after running around the house like crazy dog for the last 3 hours while the twins had friends over for their birthday. I know Jack all that entertaining is exhausting.
So on my Dear Daughter’s i-Pod wedged between him:and him:
was him:Taken from my playlist. Nice. Makes me feel like I’m doing something right as a parent. Of course she also knows all the words to Musical Youth’s ‘Pass the Dutchie‘ too. Eek!Sidebar: How about that Miracle on the Hudson? Amazing. My mouth was hanging open as this was breaking news. I’m glad I wasn’t driving down the west side highway during that time as I’d have surely crashed from the shock. The pilot is a real hero (and the best pilot ever) and once again I’m so proud of the super fast New York responders. Even on water they can’t be beat. I just love New York!

What’s Jack up to? Jack is full of life this morning. Jumping around at everyone’s feet. He’s all full of energy and ready to play. Ok, Jack I’m in!
I heard Seal on the radio yesterday morning and stopped dead in my tracks at this perfectly timed remake. We have to believe.Best,
