    Peeking

Hi there. I’m peeking out from my little cave to say hi. I’m trying to get into some sort of new life schedule with kids back home and a busy writing life. Things are a changing rapidly around here and it’s never a dull moment, but through it all I have to remember to stop and breathe and just let the world happen.

Jack is still hopping around and so over his collar, but he needs it as I have to clean his wounds 2x a day so though he hates it, it’s very necessary. I hope I’m doing the cleaning correctly and all will be well when we return to the vet next week for his stitches to be removed.

I’ll probably be a little more sporadic on ye old blog for the next few weeks just peeking in here and there. I will surely give you updates on anything exciting with me or the Jackster or the super cool book coming out in September!

In the meantime if you have not please go and if you like, “like” my official author page on Facebook. Thanks.

    Kwana

    Next?!

So my son took the Jackster out for a walk yesterday and out of nowhere a big dog comes out and attacks Jack. Oh to the What to the Get Out Of HERE! My son pushes the dog off of Jack and somehow fights him off while pulling a scared Jack away and picking him up. Another man stops and starts screaming for the owner. Well, it turns out the owners are the nice sisters (sisters as in married to the Lord) that live in the rectory house around the way. Oh gosh. Needless to say there were lots of tears and prayers going around.

Long story short, Jack was bitten twice. He had to be sedated and has stitches, tubes and drains in the wounds to his hind parts. My son thankfully is ok but feels just awful about the accident which he could not avoid. All this has been just the midpoint of a week that we thought could not get any worse. Just coming at us. Wowza. A total ‘what’s next?’ moment. At this point I vow to not be surprised.

    So I’m Sitting in Bed…

and once again waiting for someone to bring me my coffee when I realized that that someone was me.

It’s a terrible thing when once again one is reminded of one’s station in life.

    Getting up now.

    Raise Your Hands

It’s steady light flurries right now which seemed to have come a little earlier than expected because school is on today which is a good thing in my work world, but I’m hoping they taper off for the afternoon buses.  More snow is expected tomorrow night which I really hope doesn’t happen since the next day the dear twins have a big test which may have to be postponed to June if they can’t get in in. Yikes. Fingers crossed there. This has been one tough winter.

I hope things are mild where you are.

    Delayed Start

Not sure what to say about today. It’s a delayed school start due to yet more snow which I’m completely over by now. All these closures and delays have me delayed with getting on a normal track for the New Year. I’m still feeling out of line from the holidays and not quite where I should be yet. I know I’m not the only one judging by all the grumblings on twitter.  Feeling like I’m having a delayed start. How about you? Let’s hope for some calm within the next few weeks. And then it will be Game ON!  In the meantime… Happy Friday!

    Knitting on the Run

Tis the season. Today is my knitting group day, but sadly I have to knit on the run as there is so much to do today and I don’t have time to sit with my dear girlfriends as leisurely as I would like.  I’ve been so busy with the twins and writing and the holidays and Jack stealing bread that I seem to only pick up my knitting needles the one time a week that I do meet with my knit buddies. My only other relaxation time is in the tub and I have not figured out how to knit in there. Yet.

I hope you find a little time to sit still today.

    Tangled

Well, I was about to rant on and on about the tangled technology mess that I’m in but while searching for an appropriate picture this one popped up and, well, it shut me right up. Enjoy!

    Lesson In The Frustration?

What’s wrong with this picture? Why it’s the fact that the knitting is not on the needles as it should be. See I made some sort of mistake in my last lacy row and now my count is off and I have no clue how to fix it and I must start over…again.

So I’m going back to zero and unwinding. I put the knitting down for a full week as I thought of going forward with the mistake but I knew in my heart I couldn’t do it. There would be a flaw in the pattern. The only way forward was to go back and start over.

So painful as it is this is where I am now. Unwound and snipped off and back to the starting point.

Of course there is an obvious lesson in this pain that has to do with life and writing that’s hitting me on the head that I’m sure will make a great speech later when I’m feeling more accomplished, but right now I’m just feeling like a person that can’t walk, chew gum and knit.

    Happy Monday!

Just when I was feeling incredibly blah and terribly impatient with life I got this email note from The Universe on Friday to keep me hanging on:

So what if you don’t have it yet, Kwana? It’s coming. You’re gonna get it. You’re gonna love it. And then you’re gonna forget there was ever a time when you didn’t have it.Like clockwork.I know,

Feel free to take it with you to help you through this week if you like. I sure will.

    Dipping My Toe In

What’s Jack up to? Poor Jack is a sad dog today. He had Nana over for 5 days and now she’s gone back home to the city and without him in her carry all. Sorry Jack she’ll be back with sneaky treats soon.

Hello folks did you miss me? I missed you all during my week long blog break.

Though I missed you all it was nice to take a little break. This was still a busy week for me with the dear twins taking finals but today, the first day of summer, is their last so please wish them luck with me. Fingers crossed all goes well.

And I was lucky to have Nana over for quite a few days during my break and that was wonderful. She and I cooked (ok her mostly). We played lots of games of cards and planted my Impatients (you know the flower named after me).

So here I am dipping my toe back in the blog water and saying hi on the first day of Summer. Hopefully the water will be good.

Happy Summer!! Roll call…who’s with me? How are you spending the first day of Summer?

    Best,

    Kwana
