    Flying Fingers

Christmas Project update: I got another “easy” (yeah right. only about 10,000 little stitches) project finished last night. Only one more “easy” project to go. I can see the finish line.

I’ll post photos after Christmas. Trust me you’ll be underwhelmed.

    Time Treasure

I know, I know we are all so busy, believe me I am swamped like crazy right now. But during this holiday season I’d like to challenge you to step out of your usual box of crazy (sorry is that just me in the crazy box?) and try something different. I understand the economy is in the tank and there are those that may not have what they normally may give to charity, if you don’t why not give something much more valuable a bit of your time.

“Time? Ugh! Groan! I’ve got less of that than money. It’s too hard!” I know I’m talking to myself again. But how about trying something fun like wrapping presents at a local children’s home. You would not believe how many children are without homes and how many presents and wrappers they need. Hey, You don’t even have to be good at wrapping the kids won’t care! Or you can take a send a few cards to some sick and shut ins at your church or volunteer to take a couple of hours away from your own family, just 1 or 2, to deliver meals on Christmas Day. Who knows? You may actually WANT those hours away from your family and they can;t talk bad about you if it’s for a good cause. Sneaky giving.

It may seem like a lot to ask, but it’s a gift will touch you, the giver as well as the recipient for a long time to come.

    How special is that?

    Best,
    Kwana

    Oh Christmas Tree

It’s a not so quiet Friday here with me doing the usual holiday running around today as I’m sure you are too. So I thought I’d post a full length pic of our Christmas tree. I’m such a big kid. I can’t wait until the sun goes down so I can flip on the lights. It’s the best part of the holidays for me. Check out Jack playing on the couch as he knows he’s not really supposed to do. Oh well.

I’ve had to move our knitted sweater and sock ornaments because Jack actually takes them off the tree to chew and play with! The nerve.

The dear twins pretty much did all the decorating. The ornaments have mostly been collected since they were born with me adding a new ones for each of them every year. I’m such a corny one with my Sears portraits and my ornaments. I always shrink down our Sears pic and put it on the tree too just to add to the fun/torture. Scary mommy!

One of my favorite holiday movies is Love Actually. It’s not quite for the kiddies with the hilarious making of a pornographic movie and all, but oh so romantic in every way. What’s not to love about it with Hugh Grant and Colin Firth? You know I was there all the way.

Have a wonderful weekend. Stay sane. I’ll try.

Oh and please scroll down. I still want to hear about your favorite tunes.
    Best,

    Fun with hot glue

What’s Jack up to? Well Jack’s back home and totally not loving me. He’s not in the house 10 seconds and he pees on the kitchen floor. Jack was totally confused his week in the big city. “Concrete? What ya supposed to do with that?” Ugh! Now he’s all like, “Grass? What ya supposed to do with that?” Sigh.

Moving on to nicer gentler topics… Fun with hot glue or the Five Dollar Wreath Makeover!

Check out my porch before. So sad.

I can’t believe it’s really December and I’m already behind. I look up the block and wince. Look the other way and shake my head. Yep the neighbors are all ahead of me with lights strung and wreaths up. I head to my basement to pull out the lights and my old wreath see if I can muster up some spirit. Muster, muster, muster. Here I go…

Sigh again. Look at this wreath. I am not feeling it.

Off to The Christmas Tree Shops to see if I can find a deal. No great deals on full wreaths, but I got a little box of crystallized fruits (I know it sounds strange. Stop laughing) for 5 bucks and I thought hmm… I’ve got hot glue (tasty with plastic fruit?). It was a Martha moment.
Here is the finished product. I likie verrrrry much because it’s all mine.

An original. Let there be light.

Now to the tree. Baby steps.

    Southern Charm

What’s Jack up to? Jack is trying to get used to being back home after spending the week being totally spoiled by Nana. How will he survive with just little ‘ol me after having all the bacon, ham and roast beef his heart desired? He is going to be so hard to deal with this week.
I’m back from Savannah and visiting the DH’s family for the Thanksgiving holiday. It was lovely, but way too quick and the ride there and back too long. I-95 is a long road.

Enjoy the moss hanging from the stately Southern trees while I do some more laundry. Sigh.

What are you up to today?

    Happy Halloween & Quality

What’s Jack up to? Jack and his BFF the DH are both acting way too wild with the rough housing. I think there will be time outs all around in about 2 minutes.

I heart Cole Haan. Well, good quality accessories in general. I’m crazy for them and really think that it’s money well spent when you buy quality. Now I know that there are some that don’t agree with me but watch while I prove my point here. I don’t buy a lot, well, because I don’t have money to burn. If I did I’d be swimming in Louis and Gucci. I’d be totally Kimora Lee up in here. Seriously. There would be a problem.

The last piece I got was this bag from Cole Han back in February which I blogged about here. How sad was I when the zipper broke on me the other day. It totally put me in an evil mood. Eeee-vil. Well, I was about to have it repaired at a shoe maker when my friend PVE said try taking it back to the store first which I was considering but not sure of and lazy about the drive.

Long story even longer… I head to the Cole Haan store at the mall and do I know how to pick em? My bag from the winter was a top seller and has been reissued with a swanky new lining. It’s no problem that I don’t have a receipt. The sweet sales woman checks the computer and pulls me up by name and just gives me brand new bag. She said if they didn’t have it she would have sent it out to be repaired for me. It didn’t even matter that I have worn this bag practically every singly day since February and it was WORN. Tonight I’m sporting a new bag with a new zipper that works. WHAT?! Holla!

Oh and the new styles at Cole Haan are Droolworthy. I’m in love with this Dome Satchel. De-lish!

    Happy Halloween!!

    Happy Holidays

Hi, welcome to my world. I hope you like it here. I’ll admit it may get a little strange at times.
Well, this is a big step for me, getting into this whole blog thing. I said for the longest time that I’d never do it. Now here I am. Doing it!

So what will my little corner of the Internet be about?

Why me of course. And my DH (dear husband), my now teenage twins: DS (dear son) and DD (dear daughter) and Jack, our terrible and terribly cute Yorkshire terrier.

Honestly, Jack will probably be the star of the show since the other players could possibly sue me if I spill too much and Jack is a born publicity hound. Check out the picture here for proof of how nutty Jack and I can be.

I’ll also be talking about the writing life, my love of knitting and my favorite guilty pleasure, not so real, reality TV.

    Happy Holidays!
