    Making Funny Outta Crazy

Thanks to Ted.com for this wonderfully funny video from comedian Maz Jobrani that shows how we are more alike than different and yeah I happened to be in Times Square on that day too along with some friends. Small world and it’s getting smaller every day.

Hope you have a good one.

    Smart Sony Style Meet Up

As most of you who stop by ye old blog often know I’m a big lover of books and romance in particular so when my friend author Liz Maverick tweeted me about the sbtbSony event hosted by Sarah Wendell of Smart Bitches Trashy Books I was in.

I had a great time at the lunch time chat at the midtown Sony store on Masidon Avenue to talk about their newest ereaders just being launched and to chat about great reads. *Note to self: Gotta get newest Jenny Crusie* It was nice to see so many people come out and show their love of books in the serious summer heat. The passion for the written word is alive and well if you ask me.

The pink pocket reader was too cute for words and I can see the DD just loving that in her Christmas stocking. I think I’m personally in love with the reader touch edition which is the next size up. It has quick page turns and the note taking feature seems like a dream come true for reviewing books. I’m also in love with Sony’s borrow from your library feature since I’m a huge library girl.

Check out Sarah here holding the cute pink number

And look at Angela James from Carina Press who was in town taking notes on the touch (I promise she’s not this blurry in real life).

Angela was nice enough to give all attendees one free download which I can’t wait to get. Hmm who should I choose? The picking is half the fun.

So tell me have you gotten on the ereader train yet? If so what type do you have? Sony, Kindle, Nook?

    Go On Baby

What’s Jack up to? I never found out what Jack got into or what he was trying to say with that look that he gave me the other day but he was a lot happier over the weekend since Nana came back up for a visit.

I’m thinking Jack would love it if Nana just moved in.  I’m sure the Dear Twins would too since Nana spoils everyone on her path. It seems the word ‘no’ is no longer in her vocabulary. Man, it’s a whole lot different from when I was a kid and getting into all sorts of mess or at least trying too– you see in my day nothing got by Nana.  But, I guess that’s the fun of her now being a great-grandmother. Getting to say ‘sure’ and ‘yes, go ahead baby’ then sitting back and watching the fun unfold.

    Happy Monday!

    That Unknown Show

There was one tv oddity this summer for me and that was Persons Unknown. The NBC show that premiered this summer about a group of strangers that were kidnapped from their not so normal lives only to wake up in a hotel in a town in the middle of nowhere that they can’t escape from. It’s a lot like Lost where I’m totally lost, but in a good way. The plus side of Persons Unknown is that it’s a summer only show that will wrap up this Saturday. How I really don’t know? Like I said: I’m Lost.

NBC did a pretty poor job with this promotion on this show if you ask me. Moving it all over the weekly chart only to let it be pre-emoted by pre-season football  and in the end and thrown on the web only. Kinda sad. They did better with promoting that oddball Minute to Win It, which for the life of me I don’t get the draw of but my DH loves. Oh well.

If you’d like to wrap your head around something actually scripted and completely mindbending check out episodes of Persons Unknown on the nbc page.

I can’t wait to see how it’s all wrapped up and what the heck is the fascination with Janet because I just don’t get it. Tune in Saturday for the finale. And if you want to catch up have a webathon. Enjoy.

    Thankful

I woke up Friday morning from a terrible dream with the words, “Thank you Lord” spilling from my lips before I was even fully awake. I didn’t know why I was saying thank you until much later in the day when a potential tragedy was averted.

I will be even more thankful when my twins are home (I know my week of freedom will be over, yikes). But I will feel better when I can hold them in my arms for the brief moment that they let me.

Life is fleeting and fragile like the wings of a butterfly but also beautiful and at times surprisingly resilient. It’s something to be cherished and we should be thankful for those we love and those who love us.

    Happy Sunday.

    Best,

    Kwana
