    It’s Sunday

And I will have a good day or a least a few good moments that I make sure to carve out for myself. THAT is my pledge. Care to join me is a good lounge?

P.S. It’s Matisse and it’s from the Met so it should be cool right? I thought so too 🙂

    I’m In A Mood

The new season of Project Runway started last night and I’m in a mood. Not in a major mood, a minor one really, but a mood nonetheless. See it’s over two things (well, more but I refule to really brood here):

    1. The show was an hour and a half and I hope this is not the new format because that just doesn’t work for me. Who has the time?
    2. One of the highlights of the show is the weekly trip to Mood fabrics and letting the designers out in the wild so when Tim Gunn talked about the “Mood annex” and opened up a door with a bit of fabric in barrels attached to the workroom I was very disappointed and went to twitter to see I was not alone.  I hope this is rethought.

Still I will be back next week with contestants names Mondo and Casanova how can I not? Did you watch?

     Have a great weekend!

Why are you making that noise?

What’s Jack up to? Jack’s up to his usual. Getting into mischief when he can but mostly chilling…a lot. He leads a good life of walking around ruling the house. So I was playing with my phone, trying to get some pics of jack and he was totally ignoring me doing the camera shy thing when I took to doing this low toned long screech to get his attention. This is the look he came over and gave me. I love it. Not quite a wordless Wednesday but from Jack his no words say a lot.

    Fuel for thought

Most of my writerly friends are in Orlando at the RWA national conference this week and honestly my heart is there too. I’ll be fighting hard this week not to live in a state of regret and oh I should have just gone for it and what the heck with the money zone. In order to combat that I’ll be listening to old workshops that I may have missed on my ipod and working on my next project and drinking lots and lots of coffee.

Here’s hoping for a productive week. Wishing I were having my annual Nora spotting though.

P.S. Droid update: I have to get a new phone something is wonky with mine but it’s not in the store so I must keep this until it’s shipped to me. Patience is not my thing but I will deal. My BIG complaint: Why Verizon is it not shipped to the store and held for me for an exchange? Why must I pay for 2 phones and will then get my money back for one once I (Me?) send the broken one to you? That does not seem right.

P.P.S this is not new news. I did kindly tell this to the customer service person in Verizon and on the phone. Just had to blog it like I blogged how excited I was over getting the Droid.

P.P.P.S (huh?) I was no all rude like the Fla man who apparently did not have an hour for the technician to fix his phone because “he would lose too much business in and hour. As a matter of fact his business could shut down in an hour. Did we all have any idea how much money he could lose in that time. An hour? It was just crazy… Blah, Blah Blah….! ” Let the record show in the 45 minutes he ranted his phone did not ring once. I guess Mr. Trump was not calling.

Oh and I can’t stop talking. Head over to Becoming True Me to discuss Is God On MY Plate? Here.

    Vamp It Up

What’s Jack up to? As I write this, Jack is pacing back and forth and every once in a while stopping to give me “the look” as if to say, “uh when are you going to feed me lady?”  Uh oh now he’s just stopped and is starring. Going for the hard intimidation. Oh Jack I know your tricks. Patience please.

I hope you had a good weekend. Mine was nice. I had fun with my new phone until it started to act all wonky and turned on a off a bunch of times and now I can’t find a load of pictures which seems to have disappeared. So now I’ve turned sad and have to visit Verizon and there is nothing I hate more. It really feels like I have bad phone Karma lately. And those were great picture of the DH and I was just going to download them when I noticed they were not there. I hope there is a way to recover them.

In a small silver lining my most recent pictures from the weekend did not disappear. This weekend I had a real treat. The world of blogging is so odd. You have these strange relationships based on comments of snippets of a life a person felt free enough to share. I mean who knows how truthful or authentic the person on the other end of the computer is being? Are they who they portray themselves to be? It could all be smoke and mirrors and you could finally meet a person that you have a little blog crush on and it could be like meeting a star that you’ve seen in the movies and you’re like, “crap, they were much taller on screen.”

Well folks, I’m happy to say I got to meet one, well two, of my blog crushes this weekend when my buddy Patricia (PVE) had Valorie, The Visual Vamp and her sweet love Alberto from New Orleans over for lunch.

I couldn’t wait to grab the DH and run up the hill to see them (not run, drove really, no running for this girl). First off the DH did think I was a little cra-zy. You’re meeting another blogger from where? Well not five minutes into our meeting he was just as taken as I was by Valorie and Alberto. They are two of the loveliest, sweet, funny and genuine people you’d ever want to meet.

And they tangoed for us!!! So beautiful. It’s now on my list.

Sunday afternoon was a great day. Thanks for a great lunch, Patricia. And it was a good feeling for me to come out from behind the computer myself and to meet someone who instantly felt like a friend and who was just what she presented herself to be…really real and a good vamp.

    The Phone War Is Over

What’s Jack up to? The Jackster is posing for pics again. Why you ask? No you didn’t, well, I’ll tell you anyway.

It’s because the phone war in my head is OVER. I’ve gone Droid peeps. There. Done. Finito. Ov-ah. I did it. I went for the Droid Incredible because it has the just about all the same features as the Droid X but in a smaller size and in this case smaller is better for me. I’m already outsized in enough areas of my life (have you seen my feet?). I’m liking the idea of the sexy little phone with all the power.

So far I’m in love. It has so many cool apps. My fave so far is Google Goggle where you can take a picture of something and then the phone scans it and Google looks for info on it. A picture of just about anything. Way cool!

And then there’s Pandora which lets you make your own custom radio station for free. Yes, I’ve already made a Prince and a Mary J. Blige station for walking fun.
And I have to say I’m sorry for all the crazy tweets yesterday to my tweet peeps. I was drunk with phone lust but folks check out the quality of the camera. These are quick pics that I took yesterday. Super high quality for a camera phone. I’m sure I’ll be driving the Jackster just as nuts as he drives me.

Oh well. It feels good to have this checked off the never ending list in my head.  I’ll be spending the weekend with my phone. Holla!

    Happy Friday!!

    Best,
    Kwana

    Unlaced

What’s Jack up to? Hmm… I know Jack’s been up to something when I come in the front door and he doesn’t come forward to greet me. I’ll call him and there will be no reply. Now it can be one of 2 things. 1)an intruder could have come in when I was out and, well, I don’t even want to go there or 2) Jack’s in trouble and he knows it. Usually I can find him either under my bed or in the basement in his crate or his favorite spot is in the hall closet which is never closed because Jack knows how to open the pocket door with his paws. So when this happens I leave him be and go investigating. My latest find was on the kitchen floor. A ripped apart and empty bagel bag. Don’t ask me how he got to it. I thought it was in the fridge. Oh Jack you are good.

So I’m getting elbow deep or maybe it’s knuckle deep at this point in my lace project. I can’t tell you my frustration with this thing. Well, really I can but first isn’t this book cover just gorgeous. I’ll have to put it on my TBR list.

Now back to my first time at lace knitting. Grrrr…. First off the counting or miscounting if you are me, every row a different count. And then it was the fact that my needles were way too close in color to my yarn. Eyes crossing.

So after unlacing so many times I took a trip to the craft store and brought some deeper rosewood needles and started again, and again and again.

Finally I opted for a smaller scarf repeat instead of a shawl and I started again so this is where I am now.

This is going to be a long project. At least I’m plotting while I’m knitting or unlacing if you will.

How’s the hump day treating you?

    Kwana

    I write like…

I’ve spent way too much time lately on the I write like site. I’ve been putting in random snippets of my writing to see if the results change or not. I’ve tried parts of different books of mine and random blog posts. More times than not I got that I write like Stephen King and twice Dan Brown and look who else appeared, Shakesphere. As if I could be so lofty?!  Not once has a female author turned up for me. Odd with my love of romance. Houston I may have a problem though with what I’m going for next this may be a good thing.

    I write like
    Stephen King

Of course this all means little or nothing, you see according to articles. The leaked Mel Gibson tapes are like Margaret Atwood and Atwood herself tweeted that she tried it and came up to write like Stephen King. Ah well, At least it’s a fun procrastination technique and all that cut and paste really does look like work. Sort off.

You can go here to spend way too much of your own time not writing.
