    Bloomin’ Onion

Did you know I’m a total Martha fan? Really, I am. I don’t watch her show every day and when I have the TV on at that time I have to get my hot mess of The View’s hot topics on but I can totally get into Martha’s world. I also keep tuning into her station on Sirus radio which has great tips on food and decor all day.

Well, yesterday I had a great laugh out loud Martha moment while listening to Martha’s call in show. A woman called in to ask about a sweet potato recipe that she had at The Outback and Martha asked, “is that in Australia?” Haaaa! The woman with her sweet southern accent was like, “Um, no.”
Martha’s staff was cracking up in the background too.
Martha said she would try and get the recipe from corporate for the woman and present in on the show. Klassy.

Gotta love her. She’s may have been to the big house but she’s never been to The Outback Steakhouse. Oh Martha!

BTW have you see Whatever Martha with Alexis and Jennifer on Fine Living? I don’t have the channel but their radio show is so funny.

    Happy Friday!

    P.S.

Today is 9/11 a hard day for so many especially in here in New York. I have no words. Just remember and hopes for peace.

    And She Can Act Too

What’s Jack up to? I’m trying to get Jack used to a new dry food and, well, it’s not easy. Let me just say Jack has to be pretty hungry to go for it. The first day he was fine, but the second day he was like, um, is this a joke? Sigh, I’m persevering.

So yesterday, well, earlier today since I’m typing this after midnight, I did The Shred workout for the first time with the 15 year old DD.
Yep, I finally took it off the top if the DVD player and popped that baby in. Let me just say, Ouch!
    1. It’s a shame that level #1 hurts sooo bad. and
    2. when will I ever learn to do a proper push up? I mean come on, I’m not 13 anymore. I should have this thing down by now.

That said, I’m continuing on the food theme this week. I was on twitter and it lead me to this video on Gwyneth Paltrow of all people roasting a chicken and the fact that there was a big hoopla over it which was LOL funny of you ask me.

Even more funny was the fact that what led me to the video was a Tweet from NYC Housewife Bethenny saying she:

“is LOL-ing over this whole ‘Gwynethgate’ I haven’t even seen her ‘fowl’ video…”

I kid you not. Here is the Daily News gossip that she is speaking of. Crazy.

All that said, hey, Gwyneth can cook. I’m not hatin’ on her.

Great, now I’m hungry. How about you?

    Best,

    Super Lady

On Saturday a pioneer passed away. Naomi Sims died of cancer at the age of 61 in NJ. She is credited as being the first Black Supermodel paving the way for models such as Beverly Johnson, Pat Cleveland and later the likes of Tyra and Naomi Campbell.

Here she is on the cover of Life in 1969.

With agency doors being closed to her (some even telling her straight to her face that her skin was too dark) and not being able to go the traditional route, Naomi blazed her own path by going straight to the photographers to find work.

Naomi left modeling after 5 years to become a successful business woman launching a wig company and beauty business. She also went on write a number of successful books including: How to be a Top Model and All About Health and Beauty for the Black Woman.

Naomi led the way, showing how to get it done through adversity. Her star will be missed.

    Top Tom and Clay Pot

What’s Jack up to? He’s acting all happy and dancing around like he’s singing Thank God It’s Friday as if his job is so hard. What’s up with that?

This is why I heart Tom Colicchio. Check this out from his blog on bravo:

“And before I wrap up for this week, I have to comment on last week’s episode because it’s clear Dale’s dismissal has been a real bone of contention with viewers. Interestingly, after watching an episode purely as an audience member — in other words without the benefit of having been there –- it’s finally sunk in why our viewers get as riled as they do when the judges’ decision doesn’t jive with what they’ve seen
I wasn’t at the Judge’s table last week. I saw the same version of the show as everyone else. And based on what I saw, I expected Lisa to go home. She made two dishes that didn’t work, and Dale made one. Dale was also credited with executing the short ribs (albeit from Spike’s recipe) that were the team’s sole saving grace. The judges said they let Dale go because his scallops were the worst dish of the night, and while I know there was plenty that was discussed among them that didn’t make it into the episode, and while I certainly didn’t taste the food, (which is my typical snarky response when someone gripes about my judgment — “Look, buddy, YOU didn’t taste the food,”) from what I could see it was a pure numbers game. Lisa’s two lousy dishes against Dale’s one. End of story. “

    Tom.

See. If he was around I bet Dale would still be there.

In other madness… Check this out from TMZ. Feel free to discuss.

    VB Rides Again!

Hi All! I normally don’t do Sunday posts but since there were such definite opinions on my Victoria Beckham post yesterday I thought I’d share some funny youtube videos of her making Major fun of herself. Now don’t take these seriously. Happy Sunday!
