Really? And what year is this?

So I have this YA book I want to sell called Diva Slave. You can read about it on the books page if you like. And in it this modern Black girl goes back in time to pre- civil war days and one of the details in it is her father is a free Black man and has to walk with his papers at all times.

So to this I say really Arizona? What year is this?

I have this Daily Show clip and I kid but there is nothing funny.. really.

    Studly

Thanks for all the comments yesterday on what good books you all are warming up with. Some really good ones there. Adding to the TBR pile.

Today I wanted to share with you one of most fun book trailers EV-AH by super talented writer, Tessa Dare. Her book Goddess of the Hunt was one of my favorites last year. Now watch and Enjoy.

You can find Tessa over at on her site Tessadare.com here.  Go and tell her what you think and pick up a book.

Now  tell me what do you think of book trailers? This one is fab, yes?

    Capital Capital

The rain has continued and is now seeping into my basement. Instead of me weeping I will continue with my feeble attempts at mental escape from yesterday and offer this lovely clip. See you tomorrow for more.

    To Tempt Me

Thanks so much for all the comments on the DD’s dance yesterday and my little Jackster problem. I have to say we’re all still in recuperations mode here during Spring Break. It was a long dreary rainy day yesterday and more rain in in the forecast. I know that during this break my favorite here will be viewed. But will anyone stand up with me?

More clips to come during the week on this lazy spring break. What do you always turn to during a do nothing day?

    Things To Do

    Happy Monday everybody!

And a happy one it is indeed. Last night the House passed The Health Care bill despite all attempts against at. At some points at the end it got so nasty that it took us back to the days of 60’s civil rights and was terribly reminiscent of reels of school segregation that I’d been shown in school of young black children having to be guarded while crossing through lines of angry mobs hurling nasty words at them. But now these were not school children but minority members of congress. How far we still have to go and all to be good stewards of our fellow man. Thankfully we are on our way. I hope. I know Nana will be so happy.

In the meantime I won’t stay on my soapbox. This was really not my planned post for the day. See I’ve got plenty of things to do this week. Gotta stay on top of my list or I’ll fall behind and I don’t want that happening. Strange transition I know but watch and laugh anyway.

How do you keep on track when life tries to throw roadblocks in your path?

    Have a good week.

    Best,
    Kwana

    The Art Of The Trench

One good thing about the moody rainy days of not quite spring is pulling out the old trench. Well I was in dire need of a new raincoat (the London Fog has about had it) and until I can snag a Burberry I was on the hunt of a nice one on a budget. I found my favorite in a twill at Old Navy. The long enough sleeves were perfect for my ultra long arms. The only problem was the last one in my size was in white and khaki was sold out all over Westchester. To the net I went and, yay, my coat has arrived. I love it. Just in time for slightly warmer weather but still moody days.

Are you ready for the moody days?
In the meantime enjoy The Art of The Trench from Burberry.

    I’m Crushing Your Head

What’s Jack up to? Being Jack and staying in the soup. It’s door locking and trash cans up for me because Jack has been especially feisty lately. Fun, fun, fun. Not.

In the meantime… this week is crushed. Happy Friday!
