    Somebody Jolt Me

Good Monday Everyone! See I’m trying to be enthusiastic though I’ve woken with a killer migraine that plagued me all weekend. See I need to keep my energy and enthusiasm high this week because it’s a Super Social Week for the Dear Twins with….wait for it….

PROM tomorrow!!! Bells, Whistles and Whee!  For all you moms out there if you think getting together prom for  1 is hard imagine prom for 2 and one is a bit of a Diva. Yes, teeth whitening was suggested. And, No, I didn’t instantly push her from the moving car but just told her she has lost it and kept on driving.

That’s what I plan on doing this week, keep on driving as the Prom is Tuesday, Sports dinner Wednesday and a Senior Cruise on Thursday. Yes I’m exhausted just thinking of it.

But it all leads up to the end of June Graduation where I will no doubt act like a well deserved fool.  Prepare to be embarrassed twins…

    Best,

    Kwana

    P.S.

Please come back toward the end of the week because this coming Saturday is my birthday and though I have not put my head around the what, we should celebrate that too right?

It’s Friday the 13th and I’ll smile Anyway

It’s Friday… And it’s a bittersweet one. Colleges have been chosen, two separate ones, a few hours away and today is the last day of High School Classes for my Dear Twins.  I have to admit, I kind of want to cry. Of course I knew this day was coming but in September it seemed still pretty far off. Boy was I wrong. I should have known, Time runs like a freight train out of control and picking up speed.

The twins will do volunteer work for the next month before graduation in June.  I’m sure the Summer will go by quicker than I want and before long I’ll be hugging both and in a fit of tears as I say goodbye at college. But, in the meantime I’ll sing this silly song and just pretend it’s another normal Friday.

    Best,

    Kwana

    The Waiting…

Lately, in my house with college apps having been out for a while for the dear twins and us having gotten some good and not good news from different places we are all going a bit nutty around here. We’re still waiting to hear from some top choices for both kids. Still stressed over how it will all play out come September and I won’t get into the stress the DH and I feel over how it will work out financially. I’m just living on it will.

To top it off I have a book out on submission that has been out forever but that’s just how it goes in publishing. No news is no news or just a no and you have to move on. But I still can’t help constantly checking my emails. See I’m not one to compartmentalize and put things in the back of my mind. Everything stays right of front talking up too much space.

All that said I woke up with morning and this song popped into my head. Good for a writer and a high school senior. Enjoy.

    Best,

    Kwana

    Happy 17th Dear Twins!!

Happy 17th Birthday Dear Twins!! I can’t believe I’m actually writing that number. As I do, of course I’m telling myself not to cry but looking at these pictures from our trip to Disney World when you were just 3 years old it’s hard not to think of that as just yesterday and not tear up.

But I (well, we, both Dad and I) turn and look at you now and marvel at the young man and young woman you have become and we can only wonder at the truly amazing adults you will one day be. We are very proud of you both and blessed every day to have you in our lives.

Here is it only a few words down and yes, the tears are flowing freely. Sorry, guys, I can’t stop them. All I have to do is think of the never ending love I have for you both and my heart overflows. If there could be one thing I would change in this life. It would be to go back to just a few of these very precious days and slow them down a bit. So that I could hold you both tighter on that day. And tell you I love you just one more time to add to my tally.

Happy Birthday K & W! Enjoy the next chapter on the Journey Into Your Imagination.

    Love Forever,

    Mom and Dad

& That funny dog Jack too!

    Skool Dayz

What’s Jack up to? I suspect that Jack is just as tired as I am after this non-break  Spring Break. I mean his life is pretty much one long Spring Break and Spring Break for him is just like mine. Busy time with the dear teen twins.

On this break though we were all quite busy indeed. As I write this post on Sunday night, I’m exhausted and happily full off of Nana’s delicious Easter dinner. But part of the exhaustion came from the week with the Dear Twins. We did the first of our, I’m sure many to come, college tours going up to Ithaca New York.

Now that they are juniors in high school it’s time to seriously think of these things.

Yes, the days I’ve dreaded coming for years are finally here. Preparing twins for college. All I can say is, Lord, it’s all on you… in so many ways.

But now it’s Monday and back to the grind of school and writing (I hope plenty of writing. Twins, college. Hello.) and day to day life run around. I’ve got plenty to do and even more on my mind as I’m sure many of you do too.

Here’s wishing you a wonderful and productive week.

    All the best,

    Kwana

    Winter in Paris

What’s Jack up to? Oh that Jack is trying my last nerve. Yesterday after a workout with my new Shape Up sneakers I decided to reward myself with a nice bath before continuing with my chores and getting ready for the Dear Twins to come home. Well, I ran my bubble bath, closed the door just about all the way, and went about doing some things when I looked and saw Jack acting squirrely. Tossing and flipping like he was trying to dry himself. Well… sigh… that little stinker had jumped into my bath before I could. Can you believe it? I fixed him and a chased him down and gave him a bath for real. Don’t know what’s more work. One little dog or 16 year old twins.

Yeah, I know, it’s the Teen Twins (but Jack is close). They returned home last night tired and happy to see us (Jack the most). Paris was a love, love, love even in the winter (they had a bit of snow). I’m so happy they are back safe and sound. What a joy for us to send them on this trip and to have them return to us.

I will report more soon. Enjoy your day.

    Happy President’s Day

What’s Jack up to? Jack is doing well. Missing the Dear Twins but happy to have all the attention of the house to himself. It’s all about Jack right now… but really when is it not?

I hope you had a nice Valentine’s day. Mine was lovely spent with the DH and seeing him sing in the male choir for Men’s day. Here’s a pic of my pretty roses that he gave me. What a sweetheart.

In honor of the Dear Twins I’m keeping up with the French theme this week with this pic of our President and First lady on their past visit to France for President’s day today.

So far I hear the twins are having a wonderful time, visiting Versailles yesterday one of the most beautiful places on earth in my opinion. They even got to go into more private rooms like the opera house which is not for pubic view and sit. Lucky kids. I’m so glad they are having this experience. Their teachers blog for the parents every night and send us pics to tell about the trip. It looks like a blast. Yesterday there was even a sweet Valentine message video from Versailles.

Happy Presidents day to you. Enjoy!

    Best,
    Kwana
