Paris Taught Me That
Deep Breath… In. Out. In. Out. Whew. For some reason I feel like I need to catch my breath as I type this. Though there is nothing all that exciting to report life seems a bit whirlwind and go go go. Or maybe it’s just time that’s going too fast and I feel like I’m running to catch up. Either way it’s already July 15 and that is quite shocking to me. But the good thing about it being July 15 is that the new Droid X is out today and I can finally see it in the non-flesh and get that (cut to me holding my fingers about an inch apart) much closer to ending my new phone torture. Whee!!
Then I can be like Danielle from the New Jersey Housewives and pretend to talk on the phone to $iss people off. “Paris Hilton Taught me that.” Ya know.

Knit Wednesday
Look at the pretty new yarn I just got. I’ve been in the mood to try something totally new in the knitting arena for a long while so I’m taking the plunge and finally giving lace knitting a go. GULP. Be very afraid. I’m sure I’ll be tangled up in knots the next time you see me. Well, more tangled. Double GULP.

Bright Idea
So I’ve been struggling with writer’s block and part of it is too many ideas and part of it is fear and then another part of it is terrible indecision… UGH!
But thankfully I think I’ve now got a little bit of a handle on the beast that has been roaming around in my head. Now the words are not flying across the page yet, but my thoughts are getting more streamlined and contained into something (though it’s a lot bigger and more daunting than expected) that feels like a story I can get my heart and mind around.
Something else I can get around and it goes with the whole idea of streamlining are these lovely Moleskin notebooks for bright ideas found on Etsy. Aren’t they cute? You can find them here.
Have any bright ideas lately?

Hold Still
What’s Jack up to? Hey Jack would you like to take a picture and say hello to the people. They’d sure like to see your sweet face?
Just one photo please?
Um, could you stand still just for a moment?

Not that end please. A little class why don’t ya?
Jaaaack…
Thank you. There’s a good boy. Was that so hard? Whew. What a Diva you are.
Happy Monday!

Becoming True Me
Happy Friday. So we’ve made it through another week with sweltering heat in the Northeast and the big news is LeBron is going to….Miami. And the world goes insane. I mean really insane. I had so much fun on twitter with the madness that for a 1/2 hour I almost forgot the BP oil spill. So thanks for reminding me of my gnat sized attention span LeBron while crushing my DS’s heart by not picking NY. Way to go!
In other news I’d like to invite you all to stop by my new blog Becoming True Me. It’s originally a blog that I was going to keep closed but I decided to open it up with my recent arthritis diagnosis. I will still be here daily at with Jack at KwanaWrites but this is something slightly different, more of a personal journey of me dealing with life, family, kids and the RA.
Please come on by my secret cottage and have a wonderful weekend!
Love you, Love me,
Kwana
What Cha Reading?
What’s Jack up to? Well with the big heatwave we’ve been having there’s been no dashing out the door for the Jackster lately. He’s no fool that dog. He’s staying where there’s air conditioning and doesn’t want me getting angry and locking him out, not that I’d do that. LOL.
So I have not asked this question in a moment. What cha reading? The last few books I’ve read were:
The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo a book/knitting/moms night out club pick which 1/2 the club has read so far and I really enjoyed but took me a while to get into but it won me over by the middle. Now I know with that review I’m not the norm. But I do want to read the next in the series. Lisbeth is such an interesting character.
Then there was Soulless and Then Changelessby Gail Carriger which my friend Kate from Babbling about Books turned me on to. I loved Soulless so much that I had to buy Changeless for my ereader the same day I finished it. I have to say though it could not beat Soulless but left me with enough of a cliffhanger that I am very much waiting for the 3rd book in the series. Carriger is such a wonderful writer.
Now tell me what are you reading? Who’s rocking your world right now?

Hip to Knit
Me and the hip ladies will be knitting up a little trouble at my place today. What are you gonna be getting up to?
How cute is this greeting card by alisburda found here on Etsy.

P.S.
In other hard hitting super important news… Did you happen to see The Bachelorette and the Jake and Vienna throwdown? Man, I bet there are 19 women counting their blessing now. What was that?! Talk about sleeping with the enemy. If you didn’t see it go to abc and watch. Wow. She may have not done it Klassy with a K but I’m going Team Vienna on this one. Yeah I did it. I’m over 40 and picking a team. Middle aged men do it all the time. Don’t judge me people.
Phone Wars
Good Tuesday to ya! I hope the holiday weekend did everyone well. Today it’s back to the real world of routine and for me I hope that means writing. And by that I hope it means good writing.
I want to think all of you all for the kind words regarding my RA diagnosis. It’s really appreciated.
Now onto other news that plaguing my life right now… What new cell phone should I get? You’d think I was solving the BP oil spill with the way I’m going on over my cell phone dilemma, but my Crackberry Storm has broken at the inconvenient time when the iphone 4 has come out and now the Droid X is due out in a couple of weeks too. The phone wars are on people! …in my head.
Honestly I’d love the iphone. To me it’s just a sexier, sleeker, prettier phone but it has problems like that whole data plan deal and really, have you ever heard anyone actually talking on one? Sigh.
I’m sure I’ll figure out what to do soon. I feel like I’m hanging out in 1998 with the old cell I’m carrying around now and 1998 wasn’t the best year for me.
Have a great day!

No Sleeping In… It’s Monday Ya Know
What’s Jack up to? Well I had plans to sleep in on this day off Monday for everyone in the house. But Sir Jack wasn’t having any of that. Bounding into the bedroom bright and early, his annoying little nails scratching on the wood floor and when that didn’t work he went to pushing for all his might against the bed. Groan. I’d say he feels bad for waking me and the DH up, but with this look, somehow I don’t think so.
Stay cool and I hope you got to sleep in today.
Best,
Kwana
P.S. A big, I mean HUGE, happy birthday to my littlest brother, Semaj. There is a 19 year age difference between us and he’s way cooler than me so he’s probably not even reading ye’ old blog but I wanted to say a shout out to him and tell him how much I love him and he’ll always be my baby brother no matter how big he gets. This Hess truck goes out to him today.
