    Charged

Hi folks. I hope you had a wonderful weekend and all the moms out there got to celebrate either as big or as small as you wanted. I had a lovely low-key day with the DH, The Dear Twins and Jack that started with breakfast in bed and ended with a late night snack in bed. Yeah I’m sure I’ll be paying for all the indulgences later.

On Saturday I went downtown to a very nice restaurant on 57th street for our NYC annual May Brunch. This year is our 25thChapter Anniversary and we were greeted at our place settings by these pretty little maids.

As an added bonus we had the best guest speaker, New York Times best selling Paranormal and Romantic Suspense author, Caridad Pineiro. Caridad was kind enough to share with us her advice for making it as a writer in this business. She was so uplifting and inspirational. It was a terrific afternoon. You can checkout Caridad at her site here.

Now I’m charged and ready to tackle the week. I hope you’re ready too.

    Two Reasons

What’s Jack up to? Well Jack has been such the Jackster and then some lately. Darting all around and barking at just about everybody (don’t ask me what’s up with that) that dares cross his path.  Seems the little dog has quite the ‘tude.

But he’s tipping around the corner and onto the blog today to wish you all a Happy Friday and to say

    Happy Mother’s Day!

to all the mom’s out there. We’re both hoping you have a joy filled weekend.

    Let It Be With You…

What a morning this is. I woke up and said to my husband, “Welcome to a changed world.”  Now we don’t know how much it has changed or how, but we can only hope and pray it’s for the better.

Last night I sent this tweet:

“Tonight I’ve gone back almost 10 years in an instant. Wish I could go back 11 to moment of Peace. 9/11 will never be forgotten.”

I know it’s naive, the going back part. We can never go back as we can never truly forget. So I’m going for PEACE.

    Royally Thankful

Thanks so much to all of you who hopped over to Heroes and Heartbreakers and read my “If Only For A Day”  post.

So today is the big day? Did you watch the royal wedding or did you sleep in? What did you think? Wasn’t Kate lovely? How about that dress? So very Grace Kelly. Commoner to Princess.

I’m wishing the couple all the happiness in the world. If the start is any indication it should be a wonderful marriage.

I sure wish I were over there to pick up a tea towel as a souvenir. That would be fun huh?

Now, I wanted to give you all an update on my freelance twitter and Facebook project. Knit Wednesday

I kinda wish with all the Royal Wedding hoopla my little group was knitting here just for this week. I know all the coverage is over the top and I’m getting pretty over it. But I will admit that come Friday I will be watching along with the rest of the world to seewhat Kate is wearing and I’ll probably get a little choked up when the couple take their vows. And I too will wish them well and a happy ending.

For more on the wedding check out my post up today over at Heroes and Heartbreakers.

Looking for a Cowboy- TBR Challenge

So this month I didn’t bail on Super Wendy’s TBR Challenge (although I still have to finish my book club book) and I hunkered down and yesterday got in my required TBR challenge reading. This month the suggested genre was western so I chose Westmoreland’s Way by Brenda Jackson.

Now this city girl thought it fit the bill. See there was a guy on the cover who looked like he was maybe going to the opera or something and had inconveniently forgotten his shirt (don’t you hate when that happens?) but thank goodness like a good cowboy he didn’t forget his Stetson. So I saw Stetson and thought Cowboy. Oops.

Well, as it turns out he was not quite a cowboy at all but a bit time billionaire real estate developer (hmm wonder if he’ll be running for president) from Denver who is a little bit country and looking to find out the mystery of his great-grandfather when he happens upon “The most beautiful woman he’s ever seen” who sadly is engaged to someone else. Bummer that.  But of course our studly billionaire would never let something like a woman being almost married stop him. Why because he’s a Westmoreland. You read the book you’ll here they are their own breed and that should explain enough.

There was nice chemistry between Pam and Dillon right from the start and it was made clear from the beginning that he was the man to root for and there was something fishy to that scoundrel of a fiancé of Pam’s.  I did notice that there was lots of foreshadowing of things to come in the story so you knew the road before making the turn but even with that it was still an entertaining read. And in true Desire form there were some steamy love scenes to keep the pages heated.

I say for a fun and quick read give it a go.

    To The Extreme

So the DH says I’m a little kooky but with two kids going off to college and the pressure mounting, I’m feeling the heat. So after watching the new TLC show Extreme Couponing I’m calling my new file system Stylishly Frugal.

Besides I’m sure The Dh will rein me in right before I cross over into Crazy Town and start hoarding mustard. Now TP? Hey, he won’t be able to stop me there. That stuff goes fast! LOL.

Ok that IS a lot of toilet paper even for my family!

    A Rainy Smile

Hello friends how are you all?  Chime in and tell me what’s going in your parts of the world to get me out of mine for a bit.

It’s serious April Showers going on here which I really shouldn’t complain about since the showers bring the flowers and all that. But of course my dear bloggy friends you all know me too well and complain I will as the showers are coming when we are doing our great twin northeast college tours.

And these tours, boy, they are teaching me just how old I really am. Over and rivers and through the woods I go on my bad toe, and ouch, halfway through I feel need to sit and rub out the pain wishing my foot doctor was on hand with a cortisone shot. Must the dorms be so far from the lecture halls? Yes, these colleges they are for the young.

Oh well, hopefully in a few weeks the tours will be done and most questions will be answered. In the meantime I’ve got a dollar, two dreams and a smile. Fingers crossed.

Maybe I need a sweet Burberry umbrella?

    Best,

    Kwana
