Pep Up
What’s Jack up to? Jack is meandering around following me slowly around the house giving me the sweet puppy eyes as I write this. I think he can tell my mood.
See with the change in weather I can’t tell if I’m having severe allergies or I’m in fact getting a terrible head cold. Either way I’m feeling kinda yech with a side of blah and need a good dose of pep. Maybe Toni can help…
Hope you have a great day.
Best,
Kwana
Feeler Up!
Hello October!
As most of you probably know October is breast cancer awareness month. Also as many of my bloggy friends know, I spent a lot of time last year in with the breast doctor having my own scare and biopsies on both breasts. Thankfully all things turned out well and everything was benign. But I need to be screened about every 6 months to be sure all stays well.
Now I know that there are all sorts of conflicting studies that seem to come around every few month or so, now. Have a mamo at 40, how about 50 or what about going by family history. I say go with you gut and know your own body. Take control of your own health and if you feel something do something and be well.
You can click over here at to find out more at the Feel Your Boobies campaign.
Because even what may be beautiful on the outside may have a hidden imperfection on the inside.
Best,
Kwana
P.S. Nate update: I hear the Blogger Show airs today! Watch if you dare. I’m hope I’m not shown in the audience. Almost scared to watch.
Sweet Wishes
BIC HOK
The above stands for Butt In Chair Hands On Keyboard and that’s what I plan to be doing as you read this post. So I’m really sorry if I’m short on words here at ye old blog but I’ve got a bit of a deadline and I had better get some of the ideas that are in my head somehow on the page. So for now it’s me and my laptop lover all the way. Wish us luck.
I hope you have a good one.
Best,
Kwana

View From Here
It’s another rainy day with a chill in the air and the leaves loosening their hold on the trees. I think I’ll watch the action from here today.

Fear is a four letter word
What’s Jack up to? Well it’s been another exciting weekend with the Jackster. I tell you all that dog keeps us hoping. It seems no food is out of bounds as he somehow got to the peppers on the counter. So we’ll see how those go through his system. This should be interesting. And then on Saturday night I had a shock when going to the bathroom I flip on the light and find Jack for some reason just chilling in my bathtub! First of all gave me such a fright. Second of all, Ewww! Yeah me and Jack are having issues about right now.
On another not Jack dog therapy related note I’ve got to get in serious writing gear. I’m getting way deep in the dear twins college search mode and about to get busy with guidance and the application process soon but I have to be careful not to let it totally derail my planned writing schedule. I know me, and the stress of the college process could easily override the urgency of the writing process and one totally needs the other if you know what I mean. But honestly the whole thing is enough to paralyze me with fear.
Fear. What a terrible four letter word.
I hope you have a fearless week this week.
Best,
Kwana

Lounge About
Hey it’s Friday and I don’t know about you but I’m wiped. Makes me want to have a good lounge like Miss Coco here though I know I won’t pull it off anywhere near as elegantly as she did.
Have a great weekend!
Best,
Kwana

Nesting with Nate
Hello peeps. I’m still in recuperation mode from #nateday921. Seriously who would think going to see the taping of a show sitting in an audience and clapping would be so tiring. But factor in all the smiling and trying not to look all dorky and accidently pick your nose on TV and I’m plum tuckered out.
But Like I said yesterday the best part of the Nate Berkus day was meeting so many wonderful bloggers face to face. Seriously was a warm, generous and fun group of people. As you can see I don’t meet any strangers.
Sidebar: I’m so bummed not to have a pic with the sweet Stephanie of Brooklyn Limestone. Stephanie It was great to meet you!
I could not believe how many folks have from way further than Stephanie (Brooklyn) and I (Westchester). I mean there were folks from Dallas, North Carolina, Utah, plenty from DC and quite a few from Canada. Here are a few pics of all the lovely faces. Now excuse me because I won’t be able to match all the names with the faces but believe me all these people are fabulous. There is the great Tamara from Get It Girl Style, Vanessaand Kristen from Canada, Susan from Shandell’s, Tamara from Nest Nest Nest, The lovely Lisa Ferguson, Roslyn of Ra Decor, Tina of Design in Color, Erika of BluLabel Bungalow and many more…
Then there was the wonderful after party thanks to The Nest complete with fun bar cart challenge for the décor bloggers. What a cute idea and a fun time. I felt honored to be included. Now I hope all this good décor karma rubs off on me and I go from admirer to doer.
It was wonderful to meet all of you. Thanks for being too sweet. Please stop by ye old blog often and give your thought on books, life, oh just whatever you like. If you are new to kwanawrites look around a bit and tell me what you think. Oh and friends if you haven’t please stop by the Mills & Boon contest and give my entry a read and vote if you like. Much appreciated. Thanks for stopping by!
Best,
Kwana
