Floor to ceiling…
This image makes me happy. Books. Floor to ceiling. Taking up every spare inch of space. Not taken that seriously, but still (in my mind at least) precious and well loved. To me this looks like a happy home indeed. Are you a person that likes to have books all around or are you more like my dear DH and a bit more sleek and organized and just a smidge less clutter? Maybe a more formal library?
Have a happy hump day!
All the best,
KMJ

Colorful
The painters are still at it but the house is now a wash of white. With that I had to get out and see my knitting buddies for a while to add a bit of color back to my life. Having now picked shades of white for the living room and bedroom I am of course mourning the old color I used to have. This will be something to get used to. Oh well. Time for accessory shopping!

A New Volume
Turning up the volume and putting on a fresh coat for spring. I’m pulling out the paint brushes to say goodbye to the colors of yesterday and hello to something new. Fingers crossed I’m happy when the job is done.
Wishing you a great week.

In the Closet
I plan to be locked in the writing closet for the next month. November is NaNo National Novel writing month and though I’m not an official participant I still plan on writing as much as I can during that time. Now if only my writing closet was this pretty but maybe it’s for the best that I have the little corner I have. This closet I may never find my way out of.
Are you doing NaNo this month?

Lounge About
Hey it’s Friday and I don’t know about you but I’m wiped. Makes me want to have a good lounge like Miss Coco here though I know I won’t pull it off anywhere near as elegantly as she did.
Have a great weekend!

Nesting with Nate
Hello peeps. I’m still in recuperation mode from #nateday921. Seriously who would think going to see the taping of a show sitting in an audience and clapping would be so tiring. But factor in all the smiling and trying not to look all dorky and accidently pick your nose on TV and I’m plum tuckered out.
But Like I said yesterday the best part of the Nate Berkus day was meeting so many wonderful bloggers face to face. Seriously was a warm, generous and fun group of people. As you can see I don’t meet any strangers.
Sidebar: I’m so bummed not to have a pic with the sweet Stephanie of Brooklyn Limestone. Stephanie It was great to meet you!
I could not believe how many folks have from way further than Stephanie (Brooklyn) and I (Westchester). I mean there were folks from Dallas, North Carolina, Utah, plenty from DC and quite a few from Canada. Here are a few pics of all the lovely faces. Now excuse me because I won’t be able to match all the names with the faces but believe me all these people are fabulous. There is the great Tamara from Get It Girl Style, Vanessaand Kristen from Canada, Susan from Shandell’s, Tamara from Nest Nest Nest, The lovely Lisa Ferguson, Roslyn of Ra Decor, Tina of Design in Color, Erika of BluLabel Bungalow and many more…
Then there was the wonderful after party thanks to The Nest complete with fun bar cart challenge for the décor bloggers. What a cute idea and a fun time. I felt honored to be included. Now I hope all this good décor karma rubs off on me and I go from admirer to doer.
It was wonderful to meet all of you. Thanks for being too sweet. Please stop by ye old blog often and give your thought on books, life, oh just whatever you like. If you are new to kwanawrites look around a bit and tell me what you think. Oh and friends if you haven’t please stop by the Mills & Boon contest and give my entry a read and vote if you like. Much appreciated. Thanks for stopping by!

KwanaDIY-DIMe?
Oh boy so it’s a big day today. A DIY kind of day with a whole lot of Oh La La thrown in. Today I’m going to be in the audience for The Nate Berkus Show. How? Why?
Well, it’s blogger day over at Nate, well technically décor blogger day and you all know I’m pretty much a writer that talks about books, fashion, family, life and I drool over décor and show you pics of Jack on my getting a little tired couch while trying to hide my curtain situation. Yeah, it’s a situation. Shhh. Don’t tell the pretty bloggers.
But I do love good décor and adore cutie Nate. What a dream to have him come and fix up my little cottage in Freshchester. Quite swoony and hey, this gets me like what, 1 degree from my girl. Ahh- AAhhhh….. (queue angels singing)

P.S. still in a tizzy over what to wear. Ugh.
Room Envy
Sorry to be MIA on so many of my favorite blogs this week but as you know I’m elbow deep in edits and it just has to get done. Has to.
As I type this I’m in my basement but dreaming of this room. Just look at the wondrous light and those shelves. I could just sleep in the floor when I got tired and be happy.

Any type of room you are dreaming about?

Work Space
What’s Jack up to? Well, you know Jack so no surprise, he’s up to his old tricks. He got sick and threw up the other day. Could it be because the Dear Twins are home and he’s getting into their secret stash of treats from school? He got into the DS’s bookbag and found a bunch of candy while we were out and I came home to candy wrappers all over the floor. I wasn’t happy with Jack or the DS for that one.
Thank you all so much for your support on my Keeping It Real post yesterday. I’m not sure where it will lead but I do appreciate it. Today I’d like to do an update on an old post Visualization where I talked about wanting to add a writing desk to my already tight bedroom. Well, while the Twins were in Paris last week and I had the DH home I decided to move a bit of furniture around. Too bad it was when the DH was trying to take a much longed for nap that I came up with this plan (shrug).
Oh well after much nudging, we moved his chest of drawers over and took the TV off the, could be antique, sewing table that was its stand (yes there is a real sewing machine in here). Then I made the sewing table my desk. Sure it’s itty bitty but works for now until I find another I like. And I quickly put up my little inspiration board. Next up a nice tall skinny shelf for the pile of books and papers to the left that you can’t see.
But now to deal with this pesky problem of writer’s block that I’m having. More on that later…
Have a fantastic day!Best,
Kwana
