    No Sorrow

It’s the 50th anniversary of Alvin Ailey’s Revelations and once again tonight the DD and I will be at city center watching a performance together. She’s so excited and so am I. Also once again before the show she’ll be taking a dance class at Ailey and learning Revelations which is a huge treat for her. It should be a fab night and a great start to the holiday season.  Wishing you a wonderful sorrow-less weekend.

    Knitting on the Run

Tis the season. Today is my knitting group day, but sadly I have to knit on the run as there is so much to do today and I don’t have time to sit with my dear girlfriends as leisurely as I would like.  I’ve been so busy with the twins and writing and the holidays and Jack stealing bread that I seem to only pick up my knitting needles the one time a week that I do meet with my knit buddies. My only other relaxation time is in the tub and I have not figured out how to knit in there. Yet.

I hope you find a little time to sit still today.

    Awkward

Yep, I went and did it. For yet another time, this past weekend I made the family pile in the car and head to Sears for our own Awkward Family holiday photo. There I was with the oldest kids in the store. There they were trying hard to pretend they didn’t know me or the DH. Honestly, there the DH was, trying hard to pretend he didn’t know me either. What up with that?

But I’m happy to say, mission accomplished and I have now gotten a photo for every year with my twins all through high school!

Next year they will be going to college and we may start skipping some years and I may be ok with that.  I May. We will see, but I’m thrilled to have made it through this year and I didn’t even pull out the vinyl to get it done.

    Clutched

I’m loving the Book clutch by Olympia Le-Tan that Natalie Portman is holding here at her New York Black Swan premier.

Here are a few more from a slide show from The Telegraph with more of Olympia’s cool clutches. Makes it so hard to choose which one I like the best to add to my wish list for Santa Baby. Which would you choose?

    My Favorites/ Your Favorites

What’s Jack up to? It’s been a minute since I said what Jack was up to because he’s been fairly quiet. Maybe too quiet. I came home yesterday to find he jumped up to the counter and nabbed a new loaf of bread, ate half, then sort of hid the evidence. Now normally when Jack does something wrong he hides so I know to look for the problem. Not this time. He was bold coming out to greet me like there was not a problem in the world that is until I found the bread stuffed under the counter an hour later. Yeah, then he hid. Grrrr…

Today I’d love for you to join me at The Loft to help me to build a best book of 2010 list in Women’s fiction and contemporary romance. I sure can’t do it alone so please head on over there and tell me what you’ve loved this year.

    Keep It Simple

Right now I can’t get this song out of my head. I guess I’m longing for either a simpler life or to dye my hair. I’m not sure…

But I don’t see either happening at least not this month. Are you longing for something a little different in your life at times? Maybe it’s time for a slow down. Think you can find the time? Tell me how.

    Dance for Joy

Hello peeps. I hope you all had a good Thanksgiving. Mine was fun and filling probably too filling.

Writing update: It’s now the end of November and I know I won’t be making my NanoWrimo goal. Yes, it’s sad to say but this month got away from me with the new freelance gig at The Loft and with the Dear Twins college application process.

But in better news there was light at the end of the college app tunnel and we all got through it. The Applications are done and submitted! Whew. I think we all are a bit beat up and exhausted from the process (Ok I’m beat up and exhausted)  but so happy to be done.  Now is the waiting game. Isn’t that always a general state of life? But I’m feeling hopeful that there are good things in store. So for now I’m going to do a little happy dance like the beautiful Ms. Josephine here and give thanks that this part of the process is over.

Now back to my room and my regularly scheduled writing program.

    Best,

    Kwana
