Great Day
Well it’s the last day of November and I’m happy to say I made my self imposed NaNo goal adding 50,000 new words (go me). But with all the new twists and turns this book is still far from done. Sorry I’ve been MIA on the blog but I’ve been saving all my words for the page and that’s where my head has been.
Jack sends you all a good morning today though from his little bed where he spends much of his time guarding me and making sure I don’t stop typing. Have a great one!
All the best,
Kwana
Happy Halloween from the Count
After an oddball, practically unprecedented October snowstorm
Jack felt the need to bare his fangs and turned into Count Jackula!
I think he may have scared himself to sleep.
Have a good one!

Confetti Time!!
What’s Jack up to? Why it’s a big day for Jack. Time to throw the confetti and the treats because today is his birthday!
Please join me in wishing a Happy 5th Birthday to Dear ol’ Jack!

Deep Thinking…
What’s Jack up to? Chilling today and I think doing some deep thinking about his new haircut. Hope he likes it.
I’m going to be doing some deep thinking today myself about my current WIP. Let’s home I don’t hurt my brain. Happy Tuesday!
Best,
Kwana
The Little Trainer
Hi Everyone. Happy Monday and Happy Columbus Day to all my US peeps. Also the DH and I thank you all so much for all our sweet anniversary
wishes.I realize it’s been a while since I’ve written what Jack has been up to, maybe giving the impression that he’s slowed down or hasn’t been up to much. Uh, no, not the case. Jack has been his usual wild boy self and I think, has even taken it up a notch since the Dear Twins are off to college. He seems to have assumed the role of only child in the house, becoming extra needy and giving the DH and me all sorts of flack whenever we leave the house. Oh and let us don’t have the nerve to try and sleep in sleep in for say our anniversary or something. He will make sure to wake us up extra early anyway with moans and whines that escalate until even the neighbors are knocking ready to feed and walk him. Oh Jack.
And there here are the little surprises when we do try and exercise our new found freedom as empty nesters and say, go out? See exhibit A below:
This little ditty, I happened to walk in on before Jack could successfully hide it fully under the couch and get the box completely open. How he got to it on the counter, I’ll never know. But the hot dog bread a few days later did not fare as well. The DH was so not happy since he was all ready for hot hog complete with sauerkraut, which he loves. All that said if you had been thinking I’ve got it good here now that the twins are off to college, that I’m now footloose and fancy free, oh no. Jack’s making sure to take up the slack and then some so that when the twins come home for break I’ll be sure to be in fighting shape. Thanks Jack.
Best,
Kwana
Just Jack
The Enforcer
I have to admit I’ve had a bit of trouble getting of the hump of now having a teen free house. One where I don’t have the 2:30 bell going off in my head. No longer do I have hour after hour where I’m toting a kid from one activity to another or sitting through an event and cheering (ok sometimes reading) from the sides. This is a totally knew me.
ME being the operative word. And a big part of this me that I was looking forward to is the writer part that suddenly has the time to do what she said she was going to do. Try andreally make a career of this thing.
Oh-uh and gulp Scooby Doo. So to that I spend lots of time preparing to write. You know, researching (click, click online), making coffee, more researching, more coffee and then walking in circles.
I’m thinking Jack has had enough. He’s now turned into The Enforcer.
You gonna get to work lady?
I said now!
Ok, I see you’re going to be a problem, so I’ll just park it here to keep an eye on you.
Have a great hump day. Good luck getting over all your humps today.

KwanaSo Any Minute Now… Right?
What’s Jack been up to?
The Jackster has been in a state of confusion as you can tell from this pic and his scraggly hair. Just like so many on the east coast he had to deal with the hurricane too. Did I tell you all how the DH and I accidentally locked him out on the porch during it for about a ½ an hour? Yeah, that wasn’t a good start to the first night of being without the twins. Not noticing the missing dog and all. *hangs head in shame*
And ever since then he’s been completely board with me (see over this woman) and totally looking for the kids to come home at any moment. To save him from this dull existence perhaps?
The other day I had the DD on speaker phone and she called out to Jack. He just about lost it running to the front door and barking for her to come in. I just about lost it with that one.
It’s a whole new normal for all of us right now. Jack getting used to it just being me and the DH and the DH and I getting used to each other all over again.
Still hard not to think about any minute now though.

Kwana
So Jack HAD a New Toy…
Jack Has a New Toy
What Jack up to? Well he’s been busy being his ‘Just Jack’ self. He’s still having a problem with the paw biting which is driving all of us a bit mad. I’ve taken to putting infant socks on his paws and we make a game of seeing how fast he can take them off with them being all taped up (it’s fast). When he wears it though he gets cool nicknames like “old one shoe” so that’s fun. The other day he went for a much needed grooming and for a “good” (meaning no biting or anything) report card he got a new toy. I think he likes it. Already one day in and it’s slightly mangled.
Happy Hump day!
Best,
Kwana
