    Go On Baby

What’s Jack up to? I never found out what Jack got into or what he was trying to say with that look that he gave me the other day but he was a lot happier over the weekend since Nana came back up for a visit.

I’m thinking Jack would love it if Nana just moved in.  I’m sure the Dear Twins would too since Nana spoils everyone on her path. It seems the word ‘no’ is no longer in her vocabulary. Man, it’s a whole lot different from when I was a kid and getting into all sorts of mess or at least trying too– you see in my day nothing got by Nana.  But, I guess that’s the fun of her now being a great-grandmother. Getting to say ‘sure’ and ‘yes, go ahead baby’ then sitting back and watching the fun unfold.

    Happy Monday!

    Hmm…

What’s Jack up to? Jack has been a little odd lately. Going hot and cold and then giving me these strange looks like he either a. wants to tell me something or b. is hiding something and doesn’t want me to find out what he did. It’s not just me who thinks he’s acting a bit weird the twins agree he’s not quite the usual Jackster. We’ll see how the weekend goes. To be continued…

Hope your weekend us not full of odd behavior.

    That Unknown Show

There was one tv oddity this summer for me and that was Persons Unknown. The NBC show that premiered this summer about a group of strangers that were kidnapped from their not so normal lives only to wake up in a hotel in a town in the middle of nowhere that they can’t escape from. It’s a lot like Lost where I’m totally lost, but in a good way. The plus side of Persons Unknown is that it’s a summer only show that will wrap up this Saturday. How I really don’t know? Like I said: I’m Lost.

NBC did a pretty poor job with this promotion on this show if you ask me. Moving it all over the weekly chart only to let it be pre-emoted by pre-season football  and in the end and thrown on the web only. Kinda sad. They did better with promoting that oddball Minute to Win It, which for the life of me I don’t get the draw of but my DH loves. Oh well.

If you’d like to wrap your head around something actually scripted and completely mindbending check out episodes of Persons Unknown on the nbc page.

I can’t wait to see how it’s all wrapped up and what the heck is the fascination with Janet because I just don’t get it. Tune in Saturday for the finale. And if you want to catch up have a webathon. Enjoy.

    Next to Normal

What’s Jack up to? Jack is one excited dog today.

You see the dear twins are home from their week with the grandparents so Jack won’t have to deal with just boring old me all day. And that means my week of freedom is officially over (cut to me slightly sniveling). I really enjoyed it but now the mornings are getting colder so Fall is definitely in the air. Time to get back to normal or at least our version or normal which is so far from normal it’s in another state.

But I am happy to have my children close to me again.  It’s hard to have them so far out of reach. Though now that this is will be their Senior Year I’d better start getting used to that awful empty feeling.

Are you getting that early Fall feeling where you are or are you still in full Summer mode?

    Happy Monday!

    Thankful

I woke up Friday morning from a terrible dream with the words, “Thank you Lord” spilling from my lips before I was even fully awake. I didn’t know why I was saying thank you until much later in the day when a potential tragedy was averted.

I will be even more thankful when my twins are home (I know my week of freedom will be over, yikes). But I will feel better when I can hold them in my arms for the brief moment that they let me.

Life is fleeting and fragile like the wings of a butterfly but also beautiful and at times surprisingly resilient. It’s something to be cherished and we should be thankful for those we love and those who love us.

    Happy Sunday.

    Happy Birthday Megan!

Happy Birthday to my PIC (partner in crime) Megan!!

Megan is my wonderful critique partner, but more importantly she’s my friend and partner in all things snark and writing suffrage. Megan is kind and generous with her praise as well as being there with that kick in the butt when I need it too in order to get to the next word. She’s one of the smartest writers I know with the, hands down, best catalog of music.

On top of all that she has great taste in men…

and she can rock a vintage 70’s frock like nobody’s business while rocking out to Afrika Bambaataa.

Happy Birthday PIC! Wishing you the best year ever! Please join me in wishing a happy birthday to Megan.

    Love ya,

    Kwana

dress from here. Megan may want to pick it up.

    One bite at a time

Yesterday I had a great meeting with my agent to talk about the state of my current submission (waiting for word, fingers and toes crossed to cramping). We also talked about my new project which I’m just starting to work on.

I attempted to explain my new idea which is bigger and more complicated than anything I’ve ever worked on. My agent was very excited by the concept and knew it could be fab, but could see the complexity of it all. She could also see my FEAR seeping through all my enthusiasm. She knew I was a little afraid of the project and assured me I could do it if I just took it piece by piece, one page at a time.

Sometimes looking at the whole can be just too much and send you running from the challenge but if you just take it one page at a time or bite or step it’s a lot easier to make the journey.

I’m think I’m on my way.

    Morning Joe

Happy Monday! Hope you all had a great weekend. My last few days have been super busy but now it’s time for a little R & R with writing work thrown in (I hope lots).

If you haven’t been in a while I invite you to take your morning cup of Joe and hop over to my other spot Becoming True Me and see what’s doing over there.
