Next to Normal

What’s Jack up to? Jack is one excited dog today.

You see the dear twins are home from their week with the grandparents so Jack won’t have to deal with just boring old me all day. And that means my week of freedom is officially over (cut to me slightly sniveling). I really enjoyed it but now the mornings are getting colder so Fall is definitely in the air. Time to get back to normal or at least our version or normal which is so far from normal it’s in another state.

But I am happy to have my children close to me again.  It’s hard to have them so far out of reach. Though now that this is will be their Senior Year I’d better start getting used to that awful empty feeling.

Are you getting that early Fall feeling where you are or are you still in full Summer mode?

Happy Monday!

Best,

Kwana

Though the weather is still in full summer mode, fall is definitely here. School starts today and my youngest is a senior ;( How that happened I’m not sure. Time goes by so fast!

empty nesters like my parents are enjoying their freedom…but I know my mom is really bored now, she should pick up a new hobby besides scolding my dad! 😉

    Great week Kwana!

The last few weeks in the Bay Area have been gloomy and felt a lot like fall, but today it will finally reach the upper eighties, so I’m thrilled!

We will be living a new kind of normal with seniors….
enjoy having them home and celebrate with a good grilled cheese or something they like.

Hi, Kwana! I was just blogging about this very topic today! That feeling that summer’s almost over. I can’t believe it’s already the end of Aug!

Here in Southern Cal, our summer vacation is the same as most, but our summer weather is always delayed. Our Sept./Oct. are the hottest months (hence all our wildfires at that time), so we’re holding on for the upcoming ride. …

But summer vacation … deep sigh … that’s almost over. I love not having to make lunches every morn, sleeping in on weekends, lazy evenings, not washing so many socks. …

I’m going to stay in full summer mode for as long as I can! 🙂

I am holding on tight to summer. Somehow it seemed to pass by so quickly this year, and I vowed to soak up every last bit of August and make it my own personal summer. It is obliging me with ungodly humidity making me rethink my choice of the word “soak.”

In other news, my daughter has returned to PA for her Junior year and – in a surprising twist – I miss her so much! I cried my way home from church yesterday.

Our summer was so rainy, in fact we had 31 STRAIGHT DAYS of rain. Now it is indeed cooler in the ams but the days are still delightful. However, I am escaping to NJ on Sept. 1 so I will get a bit of a summer redo soon. When you Easterners feel cool, I do not hold the same opinion, it is just right, ahhhh….
