All I got was…
So no matter what I did I did not get handed a golden ticket to the game last night, but at least the DH came home with this Super Cool T-Shirt for me!
Lin-tastic!

Procrastination be gone
I’m almost definitely sure I’ve said this before and certainly sure it didn’t take so well, but like a true reformer I’m trying again. So for Lent I’m going for giving up Procrastination. Hey, it feels a lot more proactive and less negative than say… carbs. With this I can at least get something done and not be Ms. Cranky McCrankster. Wish me luck!

Living it Up!
Happy Fat Tuesday! Will you be doing anything to celebrate Mardi Gras today? How about giving anything up for Lent tomorrow? Have you thought of taking anything on instead, like a new healthy habit or a relaxing hobby that will add a little something to your life? I’m not sure what I will be doing yet but for today I plan on living it up!
Enjoy.

Watch…
Bossy
Howdy people. I woke up this morning on a gag to the horrible smell of a skunk having sprayed somewhere in the vicinity of my house. I tell you there is nothing worse and it gets me every time. It must be my super sensitive migraine nose because I smelled it about 15 minutes before my husband.
Speaking of migraines I’ve been on a 3 day run and this is day 4, the day where the head is just a cement block on the top of your body. I’m hoping the train has finally gone far enough and is now heading over to the downside of the mountain. Usually that’s how these things work when nothing else does. It’s just pain and time with it.
But enough about me, let’s talk more about me. LOL. No, let’s talk books. I just finished reading Tina Fey’s Bossy Pants. Her sort of memoir/essay/comedy book with the crazy big hands on the front that kind of freak me out each time I look at them.
It’s our knitting group/book club pick. After a long hiatus on the group book reading front, the Knitsters decided to give it another go. I suggested Bossy Pants because my DH told me about a women literally laughing out loud while reading it on the train also it had been out for a while so we could all easily get it from the library if we wanted (I love my library!). Besides who couldn’t use a laugh?
That said, I enjoyed this book. I didn’t LOL as much as I thought and there were times that I will say it had me thinking about race and society and raising my brows a little more than I thought I would. It read a bit like what I’d imagine shorts from 30 Rock would if they were doing a This Is Your Life Episode.
But en the end, I did embarrassingly have my moment of public laughter (and snorting) while sitting in the waiting room at the eye doctor so the DH was not off the mark there (and for the record, Love, I STILL want to try a cruise before I die).
It will be interesting to talk about this one with my knitting friends to see what they thought.Tell me are you in any sort of book club? How do you figure what books you’ll read if you are? Or do you think group reading is stupid and should only be done alone? Why should the opinion of others matter? Chime in.

This weekend has been a tough one for so many of us with the sudden death of Whitney Houston at just 48 years old. Making us think of how fragile and unexpected life is. So many of us who were fans of hers and had been rooting for her to make her comeback now feel a hollow hole where that space of hope once was.
But that’s how life is. It’s one where we don’t have the answers and all that I can get out of this, past the sadness of it and the sorrow for a mother, a daughter, a family is how pointless it is to spend time in your own hollow hole. It’s so easy to do. But after a while that hole may become a comfort for you and then may even turn on you. No longer the hole or hope it once was but something deeper and darker, something dangerous.
I say today make a decision to climb out. Spend sometime in the sunshine. Take a moment to laugh and dance and sing or do whatever it takes to bring you a smile, happiness, JOY.
It will be good for your health.Best,

Jedi Mind Speak
Happy Friday?
Well, made it through another week. Gosh it feels like this one went by quickly.
Jack and I don’t have much in terms of news. He’s been spending a lot of time snoozing in the middle of the day and now he’s taking to snoring rather loudly to let me know that he’s sleeping and enjoying it. Here he is just after waking up yesterday and still a little sleepy. The looks says, “I’m thirsty and can I have a treat. Either order in fine by me. Just make it quick.”My look back said, “I’m reading right now and you’ll just have to wait until I’m good and ready to get up. So there.”
Yeah, we communicate like that.
How about you? Do you have verbal or Jedi mind conversations with your pet? I can’t be the only one.Best,
KwanaGo NY Go!
So tired today after all the Super Bowl fun. Yeah I’m taking that tired but happy walk home after all the eating and partying and eating some more.
Big Congrats to this year’s Super Bowl Champs The New York Giants!
Did you watch? Did you party? What did you think of Madonna? I was so NOT mad at her.
Best,
Kwana
