New Soul
Though we know this song from being a Mac and I’m all PC I still love it and the video. I think we all have the opportunity to be New Souls inside.
Happy Friday!
Best,
Kwana
P.S.
If you’ve never been I invite you to my other home on the web: Becoming True Me. Just click on the feet over to your right. Yeah they’re my feet don’t laugh. Part of my journey was getting over my fugly feet and embracing them. So no laughing. Ok you can, I do. LOL.
There Is No Revising
Or editing or reclaiming or whitewashing or “restoring?” of history.

Happy Monday!
Just when I was feeling incredibly blah and terribly impatient with life I got this email note from The Universe on Friday to keep me hanging on:
Feel free to take it with you to help you through this week if you like. I sure will.
Best,
Kwana

Don’t forget to check out my other spot Becoming True Me. Just click on my feet to your right.
The Best Year Of My Life..yeah about that…
I can’t stop singing this song. I think it comes from me thinking if it’s not one thing it’s another. So… One way or another… It’s The Best Year Of My Life. Yeah, um, about that… I was just diagnosed with freakin’ rheumatoid arthritis. Sweet huh? But I’m not going to dwell here now the only think I’ll say now is that I will be proactive. More on that later.
Best,
Kwana
P.S.
Happy Birthday to my dear friend Karli!! I love you girl. You’ve been with me since the Easy Bake Oven and that’s a LONG time. Wishing you all the Happiness and sweetness in the world.
They are the world
Deidra from Jumping Tandem asked over at her blog yesterday “where have you seen God lately?” And not a few hours after reading that I was at my niece Maddie’s preschool moving up ceremony surrounded by Joy and for me the spirit of God. Just click the link below and look at this radiant, beautiful, funny, fearless face singing her heart out and I dare you not to smile. (Oh and the boy next to her is so not having it. LOL)

Blame It On The Rain
What’s Jack up to? Jack is getting ready for the weekend which no doubt will mean hanging by the DH and hoping for things to drop by the grill.
There are showers expected over the weekend, but like most summer showers in 90 degree heat, they can pop up at anytime. The sky going from a beautiful blue with the sun shining to suddenly darkening and leaving you with puddles at your feet. But in life storms are unavoidable we just have to figure out how to deal with them. How do you deal with the sudden storm? Do you take refuge and run inside or are you like me, and you go out kick off your shoes and feel the rain on your bare feet, taking in all the storm has to give?
Have a great weekend!
Best,
Kwana
P.S. For your weekend viewing pleasure… or not.
I’m Good Enough, I’m Smart Enough…
…And doggone it, people like me!
Feeling very Stuart Smalley today and it’s all because of this little girl. Looking at her makes me want to take up daily positive affirmations.
So how’s your self talk been?
Best,
Kwana
Not Kansas – Not Oz-Still Home
So it’s here. Today is my birthday. Look around go ahead and look, I am. Slowly….
Nothing has changed. I’m still here and so are you. I’m still the same old me just a day older and now officially 41. A wife, mother of teen twins, former thinner fashionista slash budget designer in the NYC now writer in the outskirts of the NYC and owner of a terrier that sometimes thinks it’s human. Oh and I’m a multi-published blogger. *snicker* How do you like that term. Feel free to use it all you bloggers out there. But other than that no big changes happened overnight. Ah well… big sigh and moving on.
But wait. Before I just move on, in honor of being all these (ever so slightly) fab (in my own mind) things homage must be paid.
So I’d like to raise a glass to me and also a glass (double fisting this weekend totally acceptable for my birthday) to you my dear friends who make the multi-published blogger part possible. Thank you so much for being here ,which is out there in cyber space, and stopping by to say hi and let me know they my words do not fall on deaf ears. That my tree falling in the woods does indeed make a sound. You all are so precious and lovely. Super heroes in your own worlds! Here’s to you!
And thank you Lord for getting me through another year full of all that a year can bring and then some more. I’m still here, saying YES.
Best,
Kwana
P.S. this pic is the sweet cake my Knit buddies gave me on Wednesday. So yummy.
Over The Rainbow
So tomorrow is my birthday and I know that once again I’ll wake up like I always do with a bunch of hopefulness seasoned with a hint of fear. Hopefulness because that’s how I wake each morning to face the day despite my constant jaded twin that whispered in my ear all throughout the night about fear and the uselessness of hope.
But depending on how you look at it (good or bad for me) I was way too affected by this movie as a child and live a life stuck in two worlds. One is in Kansas where it’s cold, harsh and in black and white and the other is the world of my imagination. The world of rainbows and color (and lollipop guilds) where my dreams just refuse to die. Part of me hopes (or is it fears? ) that I’ll wake up and that world of imagination will be gone along with the longing and the hope. I’ll be a grown up for real-real ya’ll. But the other part, the truly hopeful part, hopes that I’ll wake up, open my eyes and be Somewhere Over the Rainbow.
Where will you wake up tomorrow, in Kansas or Over the Rainbow?
Best,
Kwana
P.S.
Thanks so much to my Knitsters for all the love yesterday, Knitting, food, cake and presents! I’m a lucky girl. (Ugh. Getting so past the point where I can say girl.)
And a big Happy Birthday to my friend Wendy! Wishes of a pot of gold for you this year!
