    Stay In Your Lane…

My edits are barely in for my May 27th  Crimson Romance release: Seduction’s Kiss and I’m already bouncing on my toes about what project I should work on next. I have my 3rd to come up for Crimson, tentatively titled By Design (whoo hoo, set in the fashion world)  that I’m excited about and then there are the two or three other not so secret projects that I’m also itching to get going on.

It seems the creative mind never stops and with all the changes going on in the publishing world it makes it just that much harder to reign in the brain, curb the flow of ideas and focus. But I must. Nothing is more satisfying in putting the words THE END on one of the projects that have been buzzing abound in your brain.  It’s like putting a net on that hard to catch butterfly.

Or getting to that finish line and winning the race. But to do either of these things I know I need to Keep Calm and Stay In My Lane.

What butterflies are you trying to capture today?

    All the best,

    KMJ

    Presidential

Yesterday the President was in Connecticut to give a very important speech on gun control, speaking for the tragic Newtown victims and countless others on this issue that in my opinion needs attention, action and a vote NOW.

Well, he choose my DD’s college sports center as the venue to hold that speech. On Friday she was one of the many students to line up and score one of the hottest tickets in town. She and her friend were so excited when they called me screaming after getting their tickets that I was feeling giddy right along with them.

And here my beauty is, looking quite Presidential herself, sporting some old school Jackie O style with her peplum dress. Definitely ready to meet the press or President Obama if the opportunity should come up.

Finally, here are some pics from inside the arena. She told me it was amazing to see him (yes , the word handsome came up, but that could have been from me) and to hear him speak. She said it was quite life changing to be in the presence of a sitting President and feel that energy.  I know I was so excited for her.

I was also so proud. You see as a parent of young African-American adults, in moments like this, I can’t help but think back to a history not that long ago when a moment like this was nothing but a dream and a struggle in this hearts of a people.  And in the minds of some, a reality to never be seen. But here it is. In front of our eyes.

    All the best,

    KMJ

    Floor to ceiling…

This image makes me happy. Books. Floor to ceiling. Taking up every spare inch of space. Not taken that seriously, but still (in my mind at least) precious and well loved. To me this looks like a happy home indeed. Are you a person that likes to have books all around or are you more like my dear DH and a bit more sleek and organized and just a smidge less clutter? Maybe a more formal library?

    Have a happy hump day!

    All the best,

    KMJ

You Must Allow Me To Tell You…

So on Good Friday I had the great fortune of having a bunny hopping on by house and putting a little gift in my mailbox. Imagine my surprise when I found this lovely package from my friend Patricia of PVE Design!

What a lovely scarf from Brookish on Etsy and  featuring one of my favorite speeches from Pride and Prejudice! How many times have I swooned over Darcy as he said these words? Too many to count that’s how many.

And can we discuss Patricia’s cute little bunny sketch. How sweet is that? Head on over to Patricia’s blog to see more work from this fabulous artist. Thank you so much Patricia! I know I will wear it until I wear it out.

But before you go, do you have a favorite romantic quote that you’d like to share? If so please do in the comments. Oh and don’t be and April Fool! Keep an eye out and have a great one!

    Dragons to Slay…

Good Day everyone. Peeking my bleary eyes out the window as I sip my coffee I can see it’s a beautiful day in the neighborhood. But I turn away from the glaring sun as I reach for some meds to fight against the migraine I woke up with this morning and wash it down with a sip of much needed caffeine. I take a deep breath. Time to dive back into my edits and slay those dragons. The dragons of adding scenes and fixing point of views. Not to mention the dragon of fixing the emotional game of Twister that I’ve gotten my characters tangled up in. Time for another sip of coffee then to my sword.

What dragons are you slaying today?

    All the best,

    KMJ
