6 Nights 7 Days
So 6 nights, 7 days have passsed and it’s early Sunday evening I’m at a friend’s charging up and using her fancy Wi-Fi when my cell starts to buzz. Lo and behold it’s my next door neighbor calling to say we’ve got the power! Oh to the yes!! How happy am I? To be warm again. Warm again! What an amazing feeling. Just to not have to go to yet another place with my extension cord.
I can’t believe I made it this long or that I turned out to be a little more resilient than I thought. Also I’m feeling way thankful and so very blessed to have the friends and family that I do, with always a kind word and an open door even if I was a bit stubborn at times. But as for now, at least for today, I feel like the storm has finally passed and just in time because as you can see Jack was getting a bit on edge. The poor thing was over it.
Wishing you all the best,
Me and the Jackster
Weathering…
Happy Monday! Wishing everyone a lovely and a safe one wherever you are. Me, I’m in the NYC area. Charging and recharging, battening down the hatches and hoping to hold onto the bit of power that I have through the storm. Oh well, if I do lose power at least I have Halloween candy to eat and plenty of paper to write on.
Wherever you are I hope you are safe and there are calm skies on the horizon.
All the best,
KMJ

Local Author-lebrity
So it seems I’m local famous (ok maybe in my own head but let’s go with it for this here post). You see my town’s local paper did a piece on me and Through The Lens and it came out today with a photo and everything! Once I got over the shock of that and my huge head (man it’s large and in color) I conceded that it was pretty cool. I love the headline and the fact the owner of the town’s hardware store ran over to me right away when I was picking up leaf bags to give a nice congrats and say, “hey I know you!” That was really sweet. ‘D’ list here I come!
All the best,
KMJ
It’s Coming!
It’s Coming !
Did you hear me? Get to moving because it’s coming!!
So it seems everyone on the east coast, including alarmist me, are all up in arms over the impending Frankenstorm coming just in time to ruin Halloween for children everywhere. I’m preparing by taking care of the essentials like: extra batteries, extra cookies, full charge on my cell and of course a full charge on my e-reader and making sure I have enough books downloaded to get me though any weather.
If you are looking for a good read to take you away from the frightful weather might I suggest my own island getaway Through The Lens. Just look to your right and click on over on your favorite platform.
Have a great weekend and please share what you will be doing to prepare for the week ahead in the comments.
All the best,
K.M.J

Oh to the Reality-wait can I see your ID?
Will I Watch? I don’t know.
I’m I afraid but totally drawn in? Of course. The producers have done their jobs there.
Do I think this show is a total mistake and will be viewed at in about 25 minutes though the lens of “Being Bobby Brown” as just that? Yes, I do.
As a mother of a couple of 18 year olds this show just makes me itch and not in good, well at least they are adults Not So Real Housewives sort of way. All I can say is please let most of it be scripted and campy and a total Seacrest-esque production. These people don’t need the drama.
What say you peeps?
All the best,
Me
King of the House…
Looks at that face, isn’t it just the cutest?
Jack is just is just popping in to say he’s doing well. Yes, he’s still being a handful. Keeping me busy with his allergies and still at it with biting his paws so that’s always fun for both of us (not) as I try different deter tactics and fail and he lets both of us know that he’s still king of the house… but hey, he’s great writing company and he has that face.
All the best,

Putting Your Heart Into It…
Happy Monday!
And good afternoon thanks to some not so fun blog uploading problems today. I’m hoping you had a great weekend. This weekend I went to the New Jersey romance writers Put Your Heart in a Book Conference. What a great time I had and it was so inspirational. But then again I always find it inspirational when I get with so many writer ladies (and a the few writer men) at these conferences. I attended many informative workshops that had me feeling both empowered and gave me lots of room for thought on where I can improve both my craft and the business side of things especially now that I have my first book out, Through The Lens.
And speaking of marketing Through The Lens, I was so happy that my first try at Goody Room swag was a success. I did these little bags with my postcard, some candy, a kaleidoscope and little camera that was all the DD’s idea. Yay! All my goodies got gone. Wait. Somehow that does not sound quite right but oh well. Now the DD is all ready to be my marketing manager. Hey, if it gives her a focus and a major than I’m all good with that.
TTL Swag
Below are a few pics and highlights from the weekend and the book signing. I wish I had more and I wish my cell camera was better. Sorry for the blurriness.
