Halloween Glam
Halloween is less than a week away (don’t ask me how that happened) and the stores are already stocking Christmas decor and totally ignoring Thanksgiving all together. Ah well…
But for those of you getting excited about this Saturday and ready to get all dolled up for a ghoulish or glamorous night out check out this how to video inspired by the princess of shock Lady GaGa.

KwanaMagical Monday
What’s Jack up to? Jack’s had a good weekend. He got to chill on the 4th of July. All was pretty quiet in our neighborhood on the 4th. Most of the action was the 3rd and Jack hung in the basement with toys and treats where he wasn’t bothered much by the loud noise.I hope you all had a magical weekend filled with good food, fun and fireworks and when I say fireworks I mean only in the best way. Not in the crazy life kind of way. LOL.The family and I decided to brave the crowds and head downtown to see the Macy’s fireworks spectacular. Something everyone should do at least once. This year it was held on the Hudson River instead of the East side. As you can see there were people galore but the big show made it well worth wading through the crowds. Just amazing!I hope you have a Magical Monday!

Another Monday- Say Thanks
What’s Jack up to? Jack has had a fun weekend. We got a bit of sun so Jack’s had some time to be out and run around in the fresh air. Of course that doesn’t stop him from getting into high jinks. That’s a great word for Jack. High jinks.
Another Monday. They just keep coming don’t they? You know we really should be thankful for that. I know that putting the breaks on a really good Saturday or better yet a fun Friday night sounds awfully good sometimes, but hey it’s impossible so I guess I’ll be thankful today for another Monday and another chance to say hi to all of you.I’m feeling ok today. I’ve been quite blah lately, not that I’m swinging from the chandeliers, or that they could hold me, but I’m cool today and holding onto that.I had a great time at the 80’s party on Saturday night. I went with Frau’s (thanks Frau) suggestion of the boyfriend jacket and leggings with a touch of neon (thanks David) in my vintage Prince concert tee from 1988. I was so happy when I found it in the back of my drawer. It’s the one article of clothing that just seems to never makes it to the donation bag. I still HEART Prince. The party rocked! We danced and sang and one dad tore it up by break dancing. He showed the Dear Teens what it was really all about in his Aidais sweats and cool attitude.Mother’s Day turned out lovely. It started early with going to church and next was a screening of the new Star Trek. Can you say Vulcan crush? Cuz I haz one.The movie was wonderful I loved seeing the reintroduction of all the new old characters. I can’t wait for the next one. I hope filming will start soon. Then I planted my yearly geraniums in the pot for my porch and ended the evening with Chinese food and The Celebrity Apprentice finale. It was a good day.In other news: I’ll be forty in 1 month. Yikes! How was your weekend?Best,KwanaWith Love
Happy Mother’s DayLove,

Jack’s Easter
What’s Jack up to? Jack is recuperating from his exciting Easter celebrations. What a day he had!
While we were at church I had the foresight to move the plate of chocolates off the kitchen table but left the hard boiled eggs surely they were safe. Not.We get home a few hours later to terrible eggy smell. Jack had climbed on the table took a couple of eggs and, I kid you not, peeled them, and ate the eggs. He left the peelings on the couch. What is with that dog? I swear to you, one of the eggs he ate was the one I made for him that said “Good Dog” and had his little drawing. Jokes on me!
Then on the way down to Harlem and Nana’s house “she just had to have him over for Easter.” He would not sit on my lap. Whining and crying. Would not stop. I wondered why.My DH said let him go.What? Why?
Just let him go.
Whatever.
Look.
Spoiled dog. This is why I can’t do a thing with him.Note. When he’s with me, he’s much more well behaved (sort of). I do not condone this bad behavior at all.At Nana’s he ate anything and everything. Knocked over suspicious drinks and lapped them up. Did the dog come home drunk off daiquiris? I don’t know. Just crazy. Well, Jack had quite a time.
I hope you had a wonderful weekend. I could gripe like crazy about all the mishaps with mine but why? I’ll save it for a rainy day. Or not.Best,
KwanaHappy Easter!
What’s Jack up to? It’s a holiday and Jack will be with the family getting spoiled and enjoying sneaking all the little treats he can. Oh, it will be a joyous day for him!I hope it will be a joyous day for you too no matter if you celebrate Easter or not. It’s a wonderful day to celebrate all the blessings we have. Even if you have not, you still have. Just think for a little bit. I’ll wait….Now if you are reading this, then you have plenty. There’s a start. Now think some more. Have fun.
