    Your Wife Wrote What?

Good day folks. So last night I was cracking up as I watched as it started to really hit the DH that I was now published. While flipping back and forth between football and the DNC we were talking about the week so far and he turned to me and said, “So people have read the book? The WHOLE book?”

With the way he said it I couldn’t help but laugh. Finally those jitters and butterflies over people reading your words that I had been talking about was hitting him and hard. I think it may be because he was kind enough to tell some people at work about TTL and one women went and downloaded it right away coming back to comment on my dedication to him.

I just looked at him with what was probably a ‘duh dude’ face, but then I took in his nervous eyes and smiled. “Yep,” I said, “The WHOLE book. Hey, it was bound to happen one day.” Then he did that tight lip and run his hand over his forehead thing that he does and I wondered if a certain scenes were coming to his mind. I could practically feel his wheels spinning as he was probably second guessing if telling the folks at work was a good idea after all. Yep, it was funny to me.

Sweet pretty release day congratulations flowers fm the DH

Today I’m over at the fantastic Laura Simcox’s blog talking about Through The Lens, my hero and heroine and what a cheap date I happen to be (lucky DH).  Please stop on by here and see why.

So I’m a published author ya’ll, holla! Through The Lens is here. For better or worse. Gulp.

And with that I get to clean the clogged bathroom sink and say, “so I’m a published author ya’ll, HOLLA!” It still feels good to say it while I do it. And I do it with lots of attitude all sassy and Honey Boo Boo style while Jack gives me the crazy eye.

Thank you all so much for the well wishes yesterday. Please don’t forget to go here and enter my contest. It’s a good one!
This week you’ll get tired of me sending you to other places where I’m blog hopping but believe me you won’t be sorry. Not for the me factor, I’m ok, but once you get there please browse around and get to know these fabulous, maybe new to you blogs. They are all terrific and I think you’ll become instant fans as I am.

Jumping Through!… Through The Lens release day & a contest!

No need to Labor, it’s release day for THROUGH THE LENS! Bells, whistles, confetti, hooray!!! I tell you if I were younger and a little more limber I’d be doing back flips right now. But since I’m not then I won’t. But trust me in my heart, past the nerves and the constant feeling of nausea, I’m doing a triple back handspring right now.

I hope you all are flipping and bouncing right along with me. I also hope you all stop flipping and download it this very week. Heck, this very minute. Let’s make Through The Lens an instant bestseller! Remember that old Faberge commercial? You tell two friends and so on, and so on and so on…  We’ll do one of those chains. I love going retro and it would seem telling my age.

So to get the ‘and so on’ party started I’m holding a contest. The winner will receive: Their choice of a $25.00 Amazon or Barnes and Noble gift card, a lovely shawl to ward away that early fall chill  in the air, and  a lovely picture frame to cherish the next moment they capture Through The Lens.

In TTL, Mika and Ale, though they have known each other for quite a long while, start to see each other with a different view. Tell me has this ever happened in your life?

So what are the rules for contest entry?

    1. Leave me a comment saying what you have looked at with a new view.
    2. For a 2nd entry Tweet the message: “Get a new view contest #ThroughTheLens by K.M. Jackson @kwanawrites http://amzn.to/NMladw & http://bit.ly/RBUU5v ” and then come back and let me know it was sent in the comments.
    3. For a 3rd entry follow me here or on my official Facebook author page here and  leave a comment here letting me know that you are part of the team.

Please be sure to leave an email address where I can get back to you if you are the winner if you don’t have follow back capabilities. Thanks so much.

Sorry but the contest is only open to residents in the contiguous United States.

Winner will be chosen by Random.org on

All entries must be in by  midnight EST Friday the 14th.

Thank you all so much. Really, happy can’t begin to tell you how I feel today. All your encouragement and support over the years on ye old blog meant so much to me. I hope you enjoy Through The Lens and the books that follow.

    And now the shameless plug…

THROUGH THE LENS can be found on Amazon, Barnes and Noble and on  iTunes

All the best, with all my heart,

    Imagining a Hero…

Happy Tuesday! I got the most wonderful tweet from someone who had read an advanced copy of Through the Lens and she was now seeing the super hot, hip shaking William Levy in her mind for my hero Alejandro.

    Coming Through!

Can I get a woo and hoo! Check out my be-u-te-ful cover for my September 3rd contemporary romance Through The Lens out from Crimson Romance. Isn’t it lovely? Gulp. This is feeling very real now.

Here is a little bit about Through the Lens:

Mika Walters is a normal woman working in the not so normal world of New York Fashion. As long time assistant to uber sexy photographer Alejandro Vargas she’s tired of being the girl in the background. Just once she wants Alejandro to look at her with the same smoldering look he gives to his willowy models and now she has her chance.

    Stranded.

After a travel mishap where the rest of the crew and the models can’t make the remote location shoot for another three days Mika is taking her moment to catch Alejandro’s eye and put herself in front of Alejandro’s camera and if all goes to plan, his bed… at least until the real world catches up with them.

Alejandro doesn’t know what’s gotten into Mika maybe it’s the sand, maybe it’s the sun, but he doesn’t really care. All he knows is that he’s finally opened his eyes and is seeing her clearly for the first time as the smart, gorgeous and incredibly irresistible woman she is.

But why can’t she realize that what he’s feeling for her is not one of his usual one, well, three night stands. This is real. Real love, real passion. What’s it going to take for him to prove to Mika that she’s the woman he wants? Now and forever.

There you have it. Coming to a reading device near you September 3rd. Download it while it’s hot!

    Best,

    Kwana

    Fall In!

Happy Monday! I’m hoping you all had a good weekend. So I woke up yesterday morning and let my family know straight out of the gate that I would be writing all day. All day? Yes, all day.

    Giambologna’s “Woman Reclining and Writing”

Well, I guess I was nice and firm in my tone because the DH who was up early anyway got the coffee going and made me a lovely breakfast as I got up, cleaned myself up, and got into my summer writing uniform of  old pull on shorts and tee. After eating I fired up the laptop. Around 10:00 I went online to my church’s website to peek in on the service. Nothing like being there in person but I love that we have that watch live capability. After that back to work.

Around lunchtime with a stretch I ventured out of my bedroom and asked my DH would he please make me some lunch. I got a brief surprised look but gave the “I’m in my writing world face” and a bit later had a nice spicy noodle soup and turkey wrap.

It was back to writing after that. Time was ticking the clock was going too fast.

Around 4:30 I noticed no one was moving. The dreaded dinner time. I sighed. Maybe I had pushed it. I knew the DH wanted fish and not his own cook fish mine. So I relented and let him know if he brought it I’d bake it. Easy peasy. I already had 3,800 words. A fantastic day’s total.

After dinner and on a roll I went back in for a few more words before what I’m now calling a comedy hour: True Blood. The day’s total 4,900 words!

So what’s the moral of this rambling story? Let your intentions be known from the get go and don’t waver. The rest will fall in line.

    The Name Game

So my eyes shot open this morning, my heart racing and I was in a bit of a panic when I realized that with this new book I’m working on I inadvertently named a major character the same name as a relative of mine. Gulp. Now that I have remembered the family member there is no why I can go forward writing that sexy smexy scene I had all planned out. It’s done. I’ve gone cold. No way great aunt so and so is going to be thinking I was thinking of her when writing that!

But this is not a simple case of just re-naming the problem is this character is introduced by her nickname in my book coming out in September: THROUGH THE LENS. Yikes what to do? Cut to me firing up the laptop and going to a few Baby Naming sites to search for some names with that root. Luckily I have found one that I like and my heart has returned to its normal state of just semi-manic-panic.  Writer problems. They are so on the edge.

Hope your day is less angsty than mine.

    Best,

    Kwana

P.S. I’m still waiting to hear back from Stretch in the Farah Rachon win. Stretch please email me so that I can have Farrah get back to you or another winner will be chosen in a week. Thanks.

    Flying High

Happy 4th of July! I’m Flying high and feeling on top of the world. Though as you read this I may be passed out somewhere in a deep sleep, exhaustion finally having caught up with me. But no matter, you see because yesterday I handed in my edits for my book Through The Lens (due out in Sept from Crimson Romance) and I could not be happier. Yes, it was super stressful and hair pulling at times and yes, I may have been living on a steady diet of coffee, diet coke and eye drops but the fact is I made it through. THROUGH! And now I’m a Yankee Doodle Dandy!

So what? 2 days off then onto the next book?  Sounds about right J

    Best,

    Kwana
