Sunny Monday and winners!
Good morning lovelies and Happy Monday!
I’m a little (see a lot) tired this morning after a busy non-writing weekend with The DD who decided early Saturday morning that she could not live another moment without her mother. Nah! That’s not true. Though she missed me a bit, she really wanted to come home to get her hair done and begged me to come and pick her up for it. And yes, I relented (of course). But first I did the same thing she did and called my mom begging for someone to ride with. So I packed her up along with my sweet God daughter and we took a fun road trip checking out the gorgeous fall foliage along the way. Here is a lovely pic from on campus. What a day!
I went old school with pulling winners for Jax’s Date with a Siren contest and our winner are Toni and Stephanie! Congrats ladies. Please email me at kwanawrites (at) yahoo (dot) com with your info and Jax will be in contact!
Have a great week everyone!
All the best,
Kwana

Happy Friday and Thanks to Maureen McGowan and the fab women of Drunk Writer Talk for reminding me that Ryan has our back.
P to the S!
I had to add this bit of joy that I was alerted to this morning. Please head on over to the fab Scandalicious Book Reviews and check out what she has to say about Through The Lens. 4 Stars! Full of Swoon. Oh yeah!! What a way to start out the weekend.
Oh to the Reality-wait can I see your ID?
Will I Watch? I don’t know.
I’m I afraid but totally drawn in? Of course. The producers have done their jobs there.
Do I think this show is a total mistake and will be viewed at in about 25 minutes though the lens of “Being Bobby Brown” as just that? Yes, I do.
As a mother of a couple of 18 year olds this show just makes me itch and not in good, well at least they are adults Not So Real Housewives sort of way. All I can say is please let most of it be scripted and campy and a total Seacrest-esque production. These people don’t need the drama.
What say you peeps?
All the best,
Me
King of the House…
Looks at that face, isn’t it just the cutest?
Jack is just is just popping in to say he’s doing well. Yes, he’s still being a handful. Keeping me busy with his allergies and still at it with biting his paws so that’s always fun for both of us (not) as I try different deter tactics and fail and he lets both of us know that he’s still king of the house… but hey, he’s great writing company and he has that face.
All the best,
Me and the Jackster
Putting Your Heart Into It…
Happy Monday!
And good afternoon thanks to some not so fun blog uploading problems today. I’m hoping you had a great weekend. This weekend I went to the New Jersey romance writers Put Your Heart in a Book Conference. What a great time I had and it was so inspirational. But then again I always find it inspirational when I get with so many writer ladies (and a the few writer men) at these conferences. I attended many informative workshops that had me feeling both empowered and gave me lots of room for thought on where I can improve both my craft and the business side of things especially now that I have my first book out, Through The Lens.
And speaking of marketing Through The Lens, I was so happy that my first try at Goody Room swag was a success. I did these little bags with my postcard, some candy, a kaleidoscope and little camera that was all the DD’s idea. Yay! All my goodies got gone. Wait. Somehow that does not sound quite right but oh well. Now the DD is all ready to be my marketing manager. Hey, if it gives her a focus and a major than I’m all good with that.
TTL Swag
Below are a few pics and highlights from the weekend and the book signing. I wish I had more and I wish my cell camera was better. Sorry for the blurriness.
Golden Leaf Award winner Dee Davis. Congrats Dee!

Keeping the Faith
Happy Friday! Congrats, you’ve made it through another week. This weekend I’ll be attending the New Jersey Romance Writer’s Put Your Heart In a Book Conference. I’m so excited. It’s a wonderful conference that I’ve attended before but this will be my first time going a as published author myself with my own book to talk about Through The Lens so I’m a little nervous. It’s also my high school’s 25th, that’s right I said it, 25th reunion! I’m sorry to be missing it but wishing everyone all the best. To that end I’m sending this hit from 1987 from the always well coiffed George Michel. So glad we held onto the Faith.
All the best,
K.M.J.
This…
Sadly, I’m not doing what I think is enough of either. Must step it up!
Happy Wednesday!
All the best,

Happy Monday and Happy Columbus day! I hope all you lucky ones with the day off today get to relax enjoy it. Thanks for all the anniversary well wishes over the weekend. It was so appreciated and wonderful.
So what happens after 23 years? Well, you go to open your cards and get this…
Great minds, huh? And this is not the first time we’ve both gotten the same card for each other. It was a good laugh. Nice to see we’re still compatible in the humor department.Hope you get in a hearty laugh today.
All the best,

Breaking News! Romance Writer Loses Her Words…
This just in… semi-popular novelist K.M. Jackson is at a loss for words.
In a statement put out by the multi-published tweeter Ms. Jackson stated:
“Oh crap, this seems to happen to me all the time around this time of year. You see come this Sunday on the 7th it will be my 23rd wedding anniversary with the DH and the whole anniversary thing always puts me at a loss for words.
I mean I can spin a tale about some fantasy couple of my dreams, no problem, but when it comes to the real thing that I experience every day I just get struck dumb and find myself wandering the Hallmark aisle, looking for the world’s longest card. One that can adequately express what I can’t. The ups, downs, joys and frustrations of 23 years with the one I love. And surprise of all surprises (at least to me at times) loves this sometimes very off kilter writer gal back. The words that show the ‘oh my god ‘and the ‘oh my, thank god’ moments that have made this the most amazing and unimaginable 23 years of any life and I can’t believe it’s mine. Words that can express how at a stoplight I still get distracted by the thought of his smile, those eyes, that nose, those… well , I’ll just stop right there. Let’s just say the words, my words, they run together and it’s all a jumbled mess. In the end I just leave with my 2 cards and hope that my little I love you forever signed from my open heart is enough to say it all.”
All the best,
K.M.J

Gumbo Time!
Good day tweets. Thanks for all the great comments yesterday from my Reading a Multicultural Life post. They were so appreciated and made gave me heart-warming conformation on those old life decisions.
Today I’m hanging over with one of my favorite bloggers, Karla from Brown Girl Gumbo. Karla has the most fantastic lifestyle blog. Please stop by and check out the interview and then stay awhile and see what else she has brewing. You won’t be disappointed.
BTW I let it slip by me that yesterday with the 1 month-inversay for Through The Lens! Have you gotten your copy yet? Thanks to all of you who have given it a read and a kind word. I love you forever. And if you haven’t gotten a copy yet just look to the right and click. It’s easy peasy. Thanks!
Best,
