The Danger of One Story

Thanks to all who commented on the UPTOWN interview yesterday. You still have until midnight tonight to be entered to win. So scroll down here   and comment so you don’t miss out.

Today I’m posting the wonderful  TED talk that Virgina and Donna spoke about from Novelist Chimamanda Adichie where she tells the story of how she found her authentic cultural voice. So worth listening to. I’d love to know your thoughts.

Have a wonderful day!

Best,

Kwana

I’ve seen this video some months back, and I loved it. Chimamanda brings to light a sensitive, serious issue in a very elegant way.

I wish everybody in the world would listen to this to this speech.

Because the danger of The Single Story is real, and the only way to remedy it is to 1) Be aware of it and 2) Tell other stories

    Thanks for posting this, Kwana

Confession. I did not watch the video but yesterday on Oprah I was very inspired by Mary J Blige and Chris Rock’s amazing wife on their efforts to help women and those in need. Just beautiful, amazing women giving back. PS The Rock daughters are just adorable and are learning great lessons from their mom. xoxoxo

Thanks for the comments Tatiana and Phyllis. I so agree.

Punctuation Mark. Nice to see you here.

Ina, I saw Mary too. You know I just adore her.
I know it’s a long video but if you have a moment come back and watch it really is worth it. She’s great.
