    A Goodreading Giveaway!

Thank you so much for the well wishes on my DH’s birthday yesterday and I huge thank you for the kind words on my BOUNCE unboxing video. I was so nervous about putting it up and not only because of my lack of hair and makeup (though that was quite nerve wracking) but I didn’t know quite how everyone would react to being on the 2 minute emotional roller coaster with me.  But you all were so kind and generous not to mention the hair or the makeup and you were totally understanding about the emotions and for that I’m truly grateful.

And now that BOUNCE is in print I can do a little happy dance celebrating and have some fun. So today I’m announcing my signed copy giveaway on GOODREADS. Just click enter for your chance to with 1 of 2 autographed copies from me… Whee! Don’t you love reading good?

    Breezy Days & a Winner!

Happy Friday and Happy 1st full day of Spring!

Well we’ve officially made it through, what to me at least felt like, the longest Winter ever. I can’t wait until the weather finally breaks and I can get out in the garden and do a little bit of planting in my tiny patch of soil out front. I also can’t wait until I can go back to writing on the porch with Jack my feet. But until that time comes I’ll be happy with turning the heat down a bit, opening up a window and catching a light breeze.

Now that said I wanted to also say a huges thanks to all who commented on Sofia Tate’s Breathless post and giveaway. The lucky winner is Priscilla Shay! Congrats Priscilla! Please contact me with your info and Sofia will get in touch with you about your prize.

    Have a great weekend everyone!

Thrilling Thursday & a Winner on ye old blog!

So this is the face of a creature that can care less about it the weekend coming.

    Jack bored

Honestly, this has pretty much been Jack’s bored expression for the past few icy weeks, give or take a centimeter or two of fur in the eyes. If he could talk I’m sure all he’d say at this point is, “could I please have some warm sun, green grass and a haircut?” As for the days of the week and the rest of it? He cares not at all.

But me, I do, because the fact that it’s Thursday and this particular Thursday means that Scandal is coming back to TV! “Whoo to the OMG Hoo!”

And then as an added bonus I also get the opportunity to pick a winner in Irene Preston’s cool Mardi Gras Mask giveaway and thanks to Random number generator (since I couldn’t get Jack to show any picking enthusiasm) the winner is….

Angela Smith! Congratulations Angela. Please send me an email (just click over at my contact page with your contact info). And thank you so much to all who left a comment!

Enjoy Scandal tonight! I hope you all will be watching 🙂

Weekend Wrap up and a Winner Announced!

Happy Monday! I’m hoping you all had a wonderful weekend. Mine was pretty busy with the weather being a bit warmer. I will admit that a good part of it was spent with the wonder of watching some of our huge snow piles melt though they are far from gone. To highlight the fun of it all, I did have some chirping visitors come by who seemed just as hopeful for spring as I am. But with more cold weather and snow on the way it seems we both have a while to wait.  Other parts of the weekend were spent dealing with a very mischievous dog, who I hate to say it, kept the upper hand and had us on the ropes with chasing behind him. I will be victorious next time Jack.

    Threads of Desire cover Final

Nick whirled around, ignoring the fact that Gabby was in the bath. Naked and in the bath. Thank goodness for bubbles. But too bad the majority had fizzed out. Gabby quickly jerked her hands up to cover her breasts, sloshing water over the edge of the old claw foot tub. Her eyes swept down to make sure the essentials were covered. “Jeez, Nick, do you have no shame?”

He raised a dark brow by way of answer to her question. Clearly he was unfazed by the fact that he was standing there semi-nude in just his boxer-briefs, and she didn’t think he really cared that he’d been caught peeing. “Why do you think I turned around? I wasn’t going to just let this moment go to waste.”

Gabby’s felt her face heat—along with other parts of her body that she’d prefer stayed cool, thank you very much. But no, with Nicholas Ross around, of course, she was heated. Screw it. She’d afford herself the opportunity to sweep him a slow up and down. Might as well look her fill and see how he liked it. Besides, there was no way she was cowering. This was her apartment, her damned bathroom.

Gabby raised her eyes slowly and there he was, standing before her, leaning casually against the vanity and, despite his rough night, having the nerve to still resemble some sort of mahogany Adonis. Nick looked ready for his photo shoot—or maybe an early morning sculpting session, since everything about him said classic perfection. From his strongly planted feet, to his muscled calves to his well-toned runner’s thighs, up those climb-’em-like-a-ladder abs to his freaking ridiculous pecs… Gabby let out a steamy breath and licked her lips.

She got to his face, his morning scruff only adding to his appeal, and Gabby had to clamp down on her suddenly out-of-control hormones. But then she noticed the quirk come to the corner of his full lips, and her eyes came up to sharply meet his. “What do you find so funny?”

“Nothing. It’s just the way you were looking at me. I suddenly felt like I should put out a tip jar or something.”

Gabby felt her nostrils flare. “Oh, don’t flatter yourself, Mr. Ross. You’re not all that. No need to get a swelled head.” She let her eyes go south and cocked her head. “Or anything else.”

And now the contest: Tell me do you like reading in the tub? Where is your favorite place to relax with a good book.

    Plan to Dream

Happy Friday! Well we made it through another week and for me what a week it was. I made it through the 1st week with my DD away on her semester abroad in France.

Yes, I still hardly slept and yes, I worried like crazy and yes, I cried more than once, but I’m happy to report that my lovely daughter arrived and is settled with her host family and is happy and doing well. I got to Skype with her and meet her host family over Skype too and was thrilled that they are already treating her like a member of the family. Having 3 grown sons the mom said, “thank you for sending me a daughter”. This made me tear up again but also soothed my heart. Please continue to join me in wishing her well, love and safety and to send good thoughts to our new extended family in France!

    dream

With the DD settled I got to thinking about my own dreams and goals for the next few months. I have so much going on with THREADS OF DESIRE coming out on Monday. MONDAY!! (cue mild freakout) You can pre-order it here. But after that my writing options are wide open. Luckily the book ideas are overflowing, but sadly for me time is not. That said, I brought a fantastic new Filofax A5 Domino to reign in both my time and my writing. So far I’m thrilled with it (and I blame my twitter/writing bud Dren for the new obsession with flair). Now to get to writing…

Tell me are you one to plan your dreams?

And a big thanks to all who commented and entered Alyssa Cole’s giveaway. Alyssa pulled a winner and it’s Reese Ryan! Thanks so much Reese. Alyssa will contact you with your prize.

Bouncing into 2014 with a Giveaway!

Happy New Year once again friends (ok I’ve taken my tree down and it’s been a week so I don’t think we can say that much longer). Anyhoo!!! So here we are and still we’re not all flying about in our Jetsons like cars (now there’s a bit of a letdown for you from the old Saturday morning cartoons). Oh well, if that’s all we have to complain about with the flipping of the calendar, I’d say we’re pretty lucky. As it is I’m sure we could each go on with lots but I’m feeling like now is the time to celebrate, count blessings and look to the future or BOUNCE to the future. Kicking the old to the curb and welcoming the new.

2014 should be quite the busy and exciting year with my 1st self-published novel: BOUNCE just released and come February I will have my final book in my Crimson Series called THREADS OF DESIRE out (can’t wait for you all to read that one).

Yep, so there is much to celebrate going forward and I want to share the joy of my new ventures with you my friends and followers with a BOUNCE with me into 2014 Gift Card Giveaway! So click away for your chance to win.

Entering is easy. Just click away for easy entries, you can tweet about it, follow me on Facebook, sign up for my newsletter to keep up with my happenings for another and answer the question: what are you Bouncing towards in 2014 for another.

Please share this link and tell all your friends about my BOUNCE giveaway. I hope you’ll take a chance and give BOUNCE a try. It’s an exciting new voice for me and I can’t wait to share Sabrina’s story with you all.

    Bounce perfection ad 2

    Bounce

Growing up as a young girl, Sabrina Jacobs could only dream her life would be this good. She has a successful career, a famous sexy husband, two children, a house in an affluent Westchester suburb and a shoe collection worthy of a magazine spread. Too bad it’s all a façade.

It has been almost a year since her husband admitted he had an affair with a younger and bouncier coworker. Follow Sabrina as she tries to rein in her out-of-control life by kicking her husband out on his rear, chucking her career and even firing her too-cute-for-the-job nanny. But how will she survive as a stay-at-home mom in the land of designer clothes, designer kids’ parties and designer babies? Hmm… maybe the hunky young French teacher, who has been flirting shamelessly with Sabrina, is just what she needs to take her mind off her problems. Well, not if her husband has something to say about it. Will Sabrina be able to forgive and still be true to herself?

Now let’s  BOUNCE into 2014 with a renewed pep in our steps!

Meet Mikey: Writing the Secret Baby Novel + GIVEAWAY

    By Lena Hart

    Lena Meet_Mikey_Tour2

I have to admit, I never imagined I’d write a secret baby story. It’s a romance novel trope that’s been overdone and I just didn’t think I could write a unique enough story where the heroine would have a compelling enough motivation to keep her pregnancy from the hero.

But alas, I have written such a story and boy, was it a journey!

The most challenging part of writing the secret baby story: the “research”. This was a struggle for me—and a learning experience—because, not only did I have to learn to be a mother of an overly energetic 4-year old boy, I also had to get into the mind of said 4-year old. I don’t have any children of my own and don’t have much exposure to young children so writing about Mikey, my hero and heroine’s son, took a bit of Googling, ease-dropping, and quite a bit of people-watching.

During my online and field research I got to learn the dynamics of what eventually became Mikey. I learned that the average 4-year old speaks their minds—to the point of tactlessness—that they are picky eaters, occasionally demanding, and are a potential danger to themselves. Though some of my research came from watching the mothers on the bus or train, I have to give many thanks to the Mommy-blogs and YouTube videos that provided me with more insight into the mind of a toddler then I would have probably never gotten elsewhere.

The snippets I read and video clips I watched convinced me that there is little exaggeration needed when writing toddlers. They are truly natural-born entertainers. My heroine, Mia, certainly had her hands full with her chatty, energetic son and though I didn’t put in everything I gleaned from my online and field “research”, just having the knowledge made it seamless for me to channel the patient and occasional sternness my heroine needed in handle her son.

Ultimately, what I’ve learned about writing this story trope is that it’s one of those classic storylines that readers not only enjoy but can also connect and relate with. Yes, it’s a trope that may present little originality but like apple (or sweet potato) pie during the holidays, it never gets old. It’s a trope that introduces circumstances centered around some truth and I believe that provides a sort of comfort and familiarity to readers who enjoy reading about family and second chances at love.

I enjoyed writing Mia, Nate, and Mikey’s story—despite the mental and emotional rollercoaster this family put me on. And now I’m more than ready to take on the challenge of writing my next “Mikey”.

What do you love about the secret baby novel? Leave a comment and one lucky winner will be selected to win 1 of the 5 secret prizes. Prize and winner will be announced on December 1st.♥

    Goody Two Shoes!

Thanks so much to all who entered my Goodreads SEDUCTION’S CANVAS giveaway. I’m excited to say I had 929 entries and Goodreads picked the two winners. One from California and the other from Great Britain. The lovelies Sarah and Sheila.

How cool that Seduction is on the way across the States and across the pond?! Feeling quite good about that. Makes me want to do a little Sunday Goody Two Shoes dance which I would be doing if I didn’t dance so much out with the DH and friends last night. Sidebar: me and a heels just don’t mix. Oh well, I can always chair dance to Adam Ant!

Thanks again to all who entered and I hope you will be seduced by Seduction’s Canvas.
